Very dangerous thing to do. Although the author is a moron of the highest order you canrt arrest people unless they are commiting criminal malice

Police Capt. Toby Netko should be fired. No one this dumb should wear the badge. This is about the craziest thing I've read about in a long time. I hope the guy arrested takes the city and police department for a lot of cash in a HUGE lawsuit.

Regardless of the teachers comments being messed up, what happened to freedom of speech? Criminal charges for a blog?

It was obviously stupid what he wrote but if you read the whole context he was being sarcastic not really praising it. Yeah freedom of speech but you can't use it to install fear in people and that is what he did unfortunately

Nah. Beatings are so out of fashion. Today, high tech tasers are used on people who don't immediately COMPLY.

Interesting that the blogger was a Union Monkey president, obviously trying to make people who resent the salaries and benefits of government teachers, look like Neanderthals.

Union Monkey tactics, on display for all to see.

Could this help explain why comedians never bother to look for performance bookings in West Bend, Wisconsin?

If a student had posted something similar, they WOULD be arrested and jailed.

You cannot joke about this type of thing these days, period. The teacher was wrong and should be charged.

It was a disgusting comment, but should not be actionable.

There were no words spoken in a public area like an airport. It was simply an anonymous posting on a discussion board.

I don't like the teacher, but this ain't an arrest. They should arrest those jerks who protest military funerals instead.

**his comment was wrong but he should not be arrested for it. he never made any threat or anything...does freedom of speech mean anything anymore?**

Would you prefer taking no action when possible threats are made and have another Columbine on your hands? I don't think the teacher should go to prison, but the teacher should be punished.

To the guy who thinks he should sue the police: Without having seen the blog and the full comments, I'm not sure if he should have been arrested but, here's a what if: What if he made this comment and no one did anything, and then later the guy did go on a rampage and kill people? Don't you think someone would get sued because they didn't stop him beforehand?

In any case, essentially he's a liberal troll. He's one of these people who put whacked out comments on conservative sites, so that people can point to them and say: Look how crazy these conservatives are!

Don't get it....the guy is head of the teacher's union but teacher's slaries make him sick because they are overpaid? I happen to agree with him, but I don't get why the teacher and pres. of the union has that position.

Not a smart comment, but not criminally actionable.

So we should lock up folks now if there is a possibility that, maybe someday in the future, he might do something?? I don't agree with what he said either but aren't the jails overcrowed enought with REAL criminals, you know the ones who actually commited a crime???

What happened at Columbine was a horrible tragedy. But the fact that this teacher made sarcastic comments, more than likely out of anger, anonymously on a web site because he was utilizing his right of freedom of speech does not warrant an arrest. If anything, the cops should have questioned him before they decided to arrest him. This world has gone so PC that I can't stand it. If someone wanted to re-create Columbine, they will as proved by what happened at Virginia Tech. There are dangerous people in the world, but why are we all to live in fear of exercising our rights because of it?

I was wondering the same thing but it sounds like he may not be the president any longer. Not sure though.

I think he should be disciplined by the school but I can't see arresting him. I doubt he'll end up charge, I don't see a threat anywhere in the posting as disturbing as it is for a teacher to post such a thing. It actually sounds like he might be a little unstable. I don't think the Columbine incident and the teacher that was killed had anything to do with how much the teacher made so his attempt to find a link between that incident and his feelings about what should be done to the overpaid and lazy teachers he despises is a little strange.
