IM VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS!! ITS ALWAYS SAD WHEN A LIFE IS LOST HOWEVER HOW CAN IT BE MR.PEREZ'S FAULT?? HE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SICK MINDS OF THESE MURDERER'S. THE ONLY PERSON AT FAULT IS THE ONE WHOE PULLED THE TRIGGER HOPEFULLY THIS TIME THERE'S AN ARREST.

I work at Elizabeth Learning Center. I know many of our kids are involved in gang activity, or hang out with people who are; I care for and respect my students and it is for them that I worry. The shooting took place across from the school...that is disturbing to me. Our school is a Pre K - 12th grade school. So, we not only have middle school and high school students on campus, but the "babies" as well. I love my school and my job, I respect the people in the community, I just wish the violence would stop and people would try and get along; this world is in turmoil and if the small communities, etc. can't fix problems, how do we expect other countries to? I am so very sorry for the two families who lost relatives yesterday. My sympathy and prayers go out to them, I lost my Godson in a similar situation, six years ago.

I've been a teacher here for 14 years. Back then, this kind of violence was rare. But in recent years, my current and former students tell me it's getting worse all the time. Many are trying to move to "safer" towns. I've had 4 former students killed, off campus, in the last few years. I care for them as if they were my own children. Perhaps tougher anti-gang laws and more police crackdowns would help, but in the end, it all comes down to the home. Young people have to know they are loved and accepted and appreciated by their real families. Then, hopefully, they won't look for such things in gang "families."

I personally think that if the schools in this area had more activities for the kids they would not look into the streets as their hang outs..It is scary to hear the sirens and helicopters over our heads wondering what happen now...My heart goes out to the family of the young man killed yesterday. and i pray for the others wounded....

YOU WILL NEVER GET ANYONE TO SPEAK OUT ON THIS SHOOTING, THATS JUST THE WAY OF THE STREET. I FEEL FOR THE FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THIS. WE HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN LAST NOVEMBER AND IT STILL HAS NOT GOTTEN ANY EASIER. AND WE STILL DON'T WHO DID IT. I HOPE YOU HAVE BETTER LUCK THAN WE DID. ITS NOT THAT THE POLICE ARE NOT TRYING, ITS THAT NO ONE IS WILLING TO TALK.

cudahy is getting bad! sad part is the latest shooting happened in front of a school (across the street) at around 9:00 in the morning. something has to be done. cudahy is being controlled by the gangs there. it is bad. what does the mayor do nothing he is too old! and what about the city manager? he does nothing! cudahy doesn't have enough police. at night they hide. but hey code enforcement are many who just are right in front of the school giving the parents those tickets! they should be there rounding all those hoodlums up! not giving tickets to parents that want to get their children to the safety of their homes. they all look the other way! someone comment be back on this one! and conde he can't even talk english! selling products in his store that are expired already. what did he do when he was mayor? nada!

bring back the sheriffs and they will take back the control of the city from the gangs. it is out of hand. when the sheriffs patroled our streets they were on top of things and have the resources to deal with the problem. the real problem is george perez he controls maywood police were he could not control the sheriffs they were here to do a job and they did a good job. maywood all they worry about is taking poor peoples cars so the city can make a profit.you must first pay at city hall before you can even get your car back. its sad our city council does not get involved for the safety of the citizens. they are the ones you must take your demands too they are the ones you elected to represent you. if the city can afford to pay for perezs high priced lawyers to defend him of his corruption charges then we can afford to hire the sheriffs to patrol our city. at what ever the cost may be. so everyone must stand up and speak to the city council to make the changes that we need to make our city safer. BRING BACK THE SHERIFFS AND THEN SEE WHO CONTROLS THE CITY! OUR STREETS WILL BE SAFE ONCE AGAIN.
