Thankfully, we are reading of Officer Marchiondo's recovery, and not planning another law enforcement funeral.

Perhaps Newsday, or other members of the "media" who seem to devote so much print to (often baseless) allegations made against local police, might like to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged parole of the decedent.

If the deceased "emigrated" from Cuba in 1980, and found the time to rob and kill shortly thereafter, my experience tells me that he may likely be a "Marielito" (one of the many hardened criminals dumped on the bufoonish Carter Administration by Mr. Castro and his thugs).
Although the Carter Administration was duped by Fidel, successor administrations have been a bit wiser in seeking to detain non-citizen felons who can not be "deported".

If one were to look at the burning of the Federal Burau of Prisons Atlanta Facility a few years back, I believe that you'd find this gentleman's associates from the "Boat Lift" over-represented.

If the former governor had not made a mockery of the parole system in this state (and, folks, I'm a conservative Republican), perhaps this career felon might not have been on the street.

Has the good Rev. Al paid his respects to the Officer - or does he just render his opinion depending on ---- well, you know what I mean. No comments from the Rev. Al. His silence continues to speak volumes. If the the shooter, Calves wasn't from Cuba, and was African American, the Reverand would have surely have commented.
