This is completely tragic. Those who knew the young lady knew that she had just graduated from Farmington High this past Tuesday. My condolences to her family.

My daughter sat behind Larissa at graduation. She went to school for many years - this is so tragic. She was a lovely young lady. I went to school with her mother, Michelle. They have been long time Farmington residents. We should pray for both families for comfort and healing as this is a huge loss for all involved.

That is so sad and unfortunate. Maybe one day they will put up dividers on the median. People drive too fast on that road anyway.

My husband and I came upon that accident shortly after it happened. He spent a good amount of time holding the girl's hand and trying to calm her.
We are so sad for this unneccesary loss. Our thoughts and prayers go to her family.

We were there trying to help. it took over 45 minutes for any emergency person to help. the eldrely couple was driving the van and they vered off the road and hit the young girl. she was trapped upside down. the elderly woman died instantly and the elderly man die about 15 minutes after while i was checking his pulse. at least the young girl might have lived if rescuers had gotten there sooner. when the fire dept showed up instead of heading for the young girl trapped they wasted time getting there fire clothes on and aruging about which way there hose would be laid. i have been an EMT over 10 years. i come from a long line of family of rescuers. i have never seen such a jacked up scene, or a more unprofessional, unprepaired group of emergency workers in my life. had efforts not taken so long to get the young girl intrapped and get her to a hospital more quickly she might still be alive today. i have seen a lot of sad and painfull things in my life time, but the lack of care or consern shown by the cuba are emergency system makes me want to vomit!!!!! thank god for all the people that tride to keep her calm tried to clear traffic. thankg god for the people that had fire extinguishers to keep the car she was in from catching on fire. thank god for all the people who did not have to stop and try to help but did. I hope the family can take peace in knowing she was not alone and someone was with her the whole time.

Way to go JrW. That was a good thing you did. It warms my heart to know that someone stopped and was with this young girl while she was suffering. Sure beats what some of these posters would have done.

I'm Larissa's father. The lady in the car in front of her was a dr. and did everything she could to help her. I met her at UNMH. When they got her there the trauma surgeons did everything they could to save her life. She had so many internal injuries that they just couldn't do it. Larissa was the love of our lives and touched so many people. I talked to the state police this morning and they have no idea as to what happened yet. It is a needless acident. She was on her way down here so that we could go find her a new car for her graduation and she was leaving for London and Paris with her grandmother on Wednesday for her graduation trip. Both her mother and step father Ron and me and my wife Loreen are devistated that this happened. Her brother Dave so was so so close to her got to the accident scene and couldn't be with her, but we followed the ambulance to UNMH and were there when they told us they couldn't save her. All of the people at UNMH were truly upset for such a senseless loss of life. We are truly grateful for what time we had with Larissa and will truly miss her all the rest of our lives. All she wanted to do was to go to school to become a pediatrition to help kids throughout her life. She is still with us and now she is in heaven with her cousin Charley who died 8 years ago and she loved to no end. She was truly a very special and one of a kind person and there is a hole in our hearts that she is gone. I love and miss you Larissa.

We tried to get there and couldn't do it soon enough and had to follow the ambulance to Albuquerque. Thank you again.
