Why do we have the Tomato Festival on a parking lot next to the railroad tracks when we have a beautiful lake with existing facilities? Who makes these decisions?

Well Ron, in case you don't already know; the park is strictly reserved for high society affairs. The bike rally is one such highlight of the local social scene.

Oh come on Larry.....there are numerous events at the lake. There is the Christmas lights deal....$3 a car load whether your a local taxpayer or not. The Tomato Museum....free. The kids playground....free. Fishing...it costs extra. The Tree Top Trail......free. The Robert Johnson Blues....it was free last time. The only really restricting event is the motorcycle people.

Ron I meant that as tongue-in-cheek. The motorcycle rally is quite restrictive and quite undesirable. I, like you, have been against that thing from the get go. The other events and activities out there are great. Why is it that only the motorcycle rally is able to close a "public" park and charge citizens admission to their own park? Some call the Blues Fest a "black" event, but I have been to it myself and it was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and the music was great. It was a welcoming atmosphere - the motorcycle rally is not.

The only valid complaint I've heard about moving the tomato festival to the park is parking itself. Well folks....have you seen the parking and traffic problems with the festival on the Front street parking lot? Not to mention the danger of the train flying right through the middle of the crowd. I am of the opinion the location of the tomato festival is foolish and flirting with disaster.

Someone tell me.....who is controlling the location decision?

Larry.....I'm with you on the motorcycle rally. It's not me. I don't find any enjoyment at biker functions.
