This is absolutely disgusting. How can people that claim to follow Christ behave like this. The main thing the Bible teaches us is "Love God and love they neighbor as thyself" Pray for those who caused this..pray hard

This is why Sunday is still the most segregated day of the week. People who call themselves Christians but never took the time to read the bible and have hearts filled with hate. This church is just like the Gulnar Baptist Church in KY that banned an interracial couple from attending church. It is sad but so many people refuse to attend church because they do not want to be judged by the fake people sitting in the pews. I am willing to bet that there were people in that church that were living lives that were far from being christian and were jealous that two people were in love and wanted to marry. There is no way that God can be pleased with the actions of people in his house of worship; Christians are encouraged to marry in the church.

A large majority of the congregation at FBC is outraged by this action They want names. There are a handful of heavy hitters that make large contributions to FBC. Eventually the truth will come out. This absurd decision was fueled by money.

WHOA! SBC is talking "disfellowship" for FBC Crystal Springs. Last month the SBC elected Rev Fred Luter as the new director. He is the first African American to hold the position. His appointment was unchallenged. Johnathan Pritchett a Professor of Economics at Tulane broke the news just a few hours ago online.

The pastor should have had the wedding and then dealt with the consequences, even if it cost him his job. A pastor is a leader and must set an example. Instead he let unnamed parties lead giving a bad name to the entire church. As to the comment by Justice, disfellowship would not be a bad idea until this church made some reforms and placed them in writing.

Yes, as the leader of the church he should have had the balls to stand up to the bigoted idiots there and tell them how it was going to be. Then if they chose to try to run him out he would have at least had his integrity intact.

Churches do not act like that. I do not see that anywhere in the bible.

I'm from Kentucky go to a church with many races both male and female young and old I could never in my wildest dreams imagine our Pastor saying a couple can not marry because of their race! This is the year 2012! for God Sake! but I did see its a Baptist Church and living in Kentucky I have known and seen MANY MANY Baptists and they are quiet hateful rude uneducated and vaguely christian people I know of.. The Baptist is about equal to some Fundamental Muslims and as a WHITE Christian I want these RACISTS TO STOP USING UP MY OXYGEN AND TAKING UP MY COUNTRIES RESOURCES! and if I want to marry a Mexican/Black/Asian I will and then I'll march my A%$ into that hick church and pop that preacher in the face! then after my sin I will then ask God for forgiveness and feel really good inside sometimes violence is the only way!

We as Christians should not seek revenge but leave to God to fix the heart of these people. It is not the whole church that feels this way nor is it the whole community. It a shame that just a few ignorant people can make not only the church look bad, the the entire state...

The fact that he kowtowed to the bigots in that so-called "church" does NOT EVER excuse his behavior. Yes, he performed the wedding, BUT he didn't have the balls to stand up for what is right!

Just saw the movie, "The Help" last month, about Jackson, in the 60's....now this, but this is real, it isn't a movie, about how things, used to be...is it? Worse yet, this isn't just about racism, this is about missinterpretation of the Lord's teachings.....why do those people, even go to church?

Way to go southerners. That is a very nice story fully fiiting every southern stereotype there is.

The pastor needs to pray to god for forgiveness for being such pathetic coward
