For Volunteers, Four Days To Raise A Kingdom Hall

Full story: Hartford Courant

There was no Harrison Ford and no Kelly McGillis, but the scene was reminiscent of the barn-raising in the film 'Witness.' About 200 volunteers started the four-day 'quick build' Thursday morning of a ...

New Kingdom Hall means more tax free real estate for the Watchtower corporation, and new quarters for Watchtower corp. sales and recruitment meetings (oops,i mean disciple making)

Will they have a food pantry, soup kitchen,or let AA use their building to hold AA meetings like the other charitable churces do?Does the Watchtower contribute anything back to the community, for their tax free status?

THINK all you readers who have Kingdom Halls in your town, have you ever seen any charity from them?$200 billion in Watchtower corporation worldwide real estate assets.

The building of a Kingdom Hall “quick-build” is impressive, but many Witnesses and outsiders do not realize that this is also makes for clever economics. Few people except the religious will devote free time to putting up a building, but Witnesses can do it, and since non-baptized helpers are always present, it affords those reluctant to go door-to-door additional opportunities to “get their monthly time in,” as is required to be considered a Jehovah’s Witness.

The local Witnesses benefit, since it cuts the cost of their loan from the Watchtower Society to get the land, and the Watchtower benefits, not only from the publicity but they also now own more property and buildings (No, the local Witnesses will never own it.)

The Watchtower is big money, being one of the top 40 New York City Corporations making nearly one billion dollars a year. That’s just from one of their many corporations.

Seems like there is a bitter background behind this Daniel guy's comments. Its always easy to bash someone who won't respond to your claims. JW's quietly do their thing. Don't hate, congratulate. Guess no other religion has a "tax free" status. Oh, wait, what about Islam, Buddists, Mormons, Hindus and Christendom as a whole? Guess this is just a Bash JW forum. Does Daniel owe the WT corp money or something?

Hmm, how odd in Oregon the local congregations do own their land and buildings. Is it different on the east coast?

Danny, how many times has a congregation helped out it's member when no one else would? how many times do you read of disasters, here and around the world, where Jehovah's Witnesses have come from far and wide to help, not just our own but neighbors as well, and free of charge? And are usually the first ones at the scene, not waiting for governments, before getting to work lending a hand. From the newest to the experienced, from the youngest to the oldest,we joyfully give of whatever we can wherever it's needed. What have you done lately other than tear down?

__________

That 20 year-old homeless man on the corner in front of Bethel in 1960 is still there 46 years later. Not one scrap from the Watchtower table fell in his lap during those 46 years. But I can guarantee you one thing. At least some real christians fed him and gave him clothing and a warm bed for the night when it was too cold for him to stand on the corner or sleep in a box.
Your idol, the "Faithful Slave" claims that the rich man and Lazarus is just a parable because they deny the fact of total conscious separation from God. I suggest you read and meditate on Luke 16:19-31 for its real meaning instead of following in the footsteps of your false Christs in Brooklyn as they walk around that homeless man like the religious men on the Jericho road did to the man who had been robbed, beaten and left for dead.

I'm sorry A&F, but I haven't read any such reports. From what I have seen, it has been the Red Cross and the local Church community that helps out strangers who are in trouble. To my experience, the Watchtower Society helps its own, and if someone else benefits, thats just so much collateral "damage".

That is not true, at least at the several that I helped to build, from Southern Indiana to Northern Indiana, Somerset, KY to Greenville, OH, etc.

At the one in Greenville, OH, even the Presbyterian lawyer, used by that congregation for legal purposes, helped roof the KH.

<quoted text>
Candice, get a clue. Many of us, most of us,(ex-JWs) have been put through the worst of persecution and hatred from Jehovah's witnesses. I know they are only doing what their god (the WT corp.) tells them to do, but, the outcome is still the same, they show us great hatred, call us names, and even tell people they call on from door to door that we are apostates, saying we were thrown out of the JWs for evil conduct.

The JWs quietly do their own thing? Does that raise ANY questions in your mind? We have been JWs!(maybe you are too, you do not say) Well if it doesn't raise questions then consider these forums on the net. Hundreds of ex-members are speaking out, they were not permitted to, in the organization, now that they are free, they have a lot to say.

When the JWs do choose to "speak out" on these forums you see (finally) what should have happened within the congregations, but was forbidden, by the threat of being expelled from "Jehovah's organization."

whoa, see how quickly we all turn against each other.
If you are a witness, then according to the guidelines and principals adopted by yourself you should not be on here getting in an argument. reasoning is your creed, is it not? and if you are not then why set yourself below your adversary and lose your temper. the more angry you become the less logical your argument, or veiwpoint, will seem. and killing someone, yeah, that will set things straight, just like all the other killings that go on day to day. oh wait, they dont, forget what side you are on, if you want peace, be peaceable. that means relax, you have to chose to argue on this or any other site, or even in person.
g'day.

Brainwashing Asylum's being built all over the world called kingdom halls

I being a Christian a Follower & Worshiper of Christ, took it upon myself to study with Jehovah's to see what your beliefs are, this went on for many months, once a week, & attended your celebrating the "Annivesary of His death", & here only the remaining chosen 144 000 were able to drink the wine & eat the bread. Jesus said to His Disciples that it must be done in rememberance of Him, not just left for the "selected few".
Also during my studies with Witnesses, it is common knowledge that you learn more from literature passed down from your governing body than the actual Bible. You know my views on the NWT already, I have a copy, & cover it quite frequently with my girlfriend who has studied Greek & Hebrew. There are just so many flaws, I have even found them myself looking through your version of an interlinear.
You speak about the Whore who rides the beast as being of other faiths, you have forgotten to include yourselves in that Prophecy.

Your Founder Charles Taze Russell was fascinated by pyramids & believed that answers lay with them for man kind, even to the point of his belief, he has a pyramid for a tombstone check site: http://www.spotlightministries.org.uk/russell ...

Look at the the false prophecies your organisation made and tries to back up by continuing to change dates to try suit the changing times because of their inaccurate predictions that are NOT BREATHED OF GOD!

TILL HE COMES...

"hey its me all u fucking witnesses will pay for destroying my mind."

While i understand your anger, i have seen it for years in working with former jw, but i hate to tell you it ain't the poor rank and file jw, he is just as lost as you and I was-

condier this simple fact- we have grown men and women posting here and yet if the PO stopped by thier home tonight and asked to ck his email and decided to ck their cookies, you would literally have grown men and women about to Piss in thier pants
despite the fact that they may have raised very good decent kids, keep their home neat in the neighbors, go to work on time, pay their debts on time, yet all because they as an adult made a decision to come on this site and read this thread this grown person is now being treated like a two year old

what kind of person subjects themselves to such humlilation - as a grown man or woman

I will bet you the coldest beer you can find that you could not find one co-worker or neighbor if you asked

"Would you be in trouble with your religion if you went on a Bible discussion forum where pros and cons biblical issues were being discussed"

yet as you and i both know any jw caught on this site is up creek, hole in the boat and no paddle

think about what that says when a grown man or woman willing subjects themselves to such an arrangement by some Dudes out of New York City

when my wife and i tell church groups this they can't beleive and we challeng them- go back to work and ask the jw what will happen if an Elder saw your cookies

46 years!!!! That man is homeless because he chooses to be homeless. Do not mistake that. How do you know that JW's didn't feed him or offer to help him. Have you been by his side for 46 years? Homeless for 46 years and you think other people have been neglectful. You should try using your brain before commenting.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Pisces

Someone is in a very boisterous mood today, and you may want to make yourself scarce after a short spell in their company. Their idea of a joke may be your idea of extreme rudeness, or they could take pleasure in being argumentative just for the sake of it. Don't let this person wind you up or you'll go off pop through sheer tension.
