I've seen this many times here. Guy drives a BIG fire truck to his home for about 5-10 minutes. Wasting alot of fuel to move the thing and runs home for what? Sure as hell was not a fire here. Twice today? Yea thats your taxpayers $$$ at work. I'm sure some of you up on Amy Lane have seen this, I think it's time that we stand up and hold these county $ leeches accountabable and pay to fuel these big ass firetrucks out of thier own pockets themselves. I have no problem with someone willing to fight a fire, but just rideing around and burning fuel on my dime just because you can a'int worth a f***. Drive your own car/truck home to kiss mommy, or get your next hit or whatevever the hell you are doing........

well, i do not know which fireman you are talking about, so this is not coming from personal knowlege. but, there are many things to consider here. if it is a paid fireman, they work 24 or more hours straight. he may be stopping by to see the kids for a few minutes, to check on a sick relative, grab some money, grab some lunch, or to use the bathroom in privacy, etc. i understand your concern about the fuel cost, and while he should not be out running the roads for no reason, if he does have to run home or to the store for whatever need, if he did that in his personal vehicle and got a fire call, he would have to drive back to the department, get the truck, and then head out. if he is in the truck already, those minutes saved not having to go get the truck could be life saving!!

Well this goes on constantly here. Hell, I could have drove to CA. on what I've seen him come in/out in the last couple months. BTW I work too and I take my lunch and a little money with me everyday for those needs. It's not like I sit here everyday with nothing to do. This is just what I see when I'm here.

You do realize that the firetrucks must be driven everyday to charge up the battery, don't you? This is normal procedure to keep the trucks in good, working condition so when there is an emergency, they will be ready.

<quoted text>
You do not have to drive a firetruck daily to charge up the battery. I'm not saying you shouldn't start the engine periodically, but having to drive a truck around town to keep the battery charged is BS.

I would like to see your critical a** walk in that firefighters steps for just 8 hrs not the 24,36,48 or longer shifts that they work.Most of our firefighters here are volunteers, they are not just "Firefighters" they are Hazmat techs, first responders,extrication techs.They do this not for the little pay or thanks they get but to protect their communties.Let's pray you never need any of these services.WHAT DO YOU DO!

You need to realize that these VOLUNTEER firefighters & first responders are on call 24hrs a day. They use their own gas,vehicles & money to respond to calls. You don't hear them complaining of that,because it's what they have chosen to do,take their time and money from their wives and kids to help critical people like you that want to complain about a firetruck coming home to eat or change clothes or even to kiss their mother or kids,because they may never see them again!!!!! I DONT THINK THAT IS GONNA HURT YOUR POCKETBOOK TO MUCH! You need to find a LIFE why don't you volunteer at Crump Firehall?

The fire truck doen't bother me those boy work and train hard.
My thing is look around at the Southwest vans. I have seen them at McDonald and Hardees on Saturday and Sunday. How much of our tax money goes there? I know the people and I know they are just riding around on the weekends to keep from using their gas!!!!!!!!!!

MY HUSBAND,DAUGHTER, AND SON IN LAW ARE ALL FIREFIGHTERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS. YOU DONT KNOW THE FIRST THING ABOUT ANY OF THIS.THEY RISK THERE LIVES EVERYTIME THEY RESPOND TO A CALL. WHETHER ON THERE PERSONAL VEHICLE OR FIRETRUCK.IF YOU WORKED A HONEST DAY LIVING YOU WOULDNT BE WORRIED ABOUT THE FUEL THAT THEY USE.ALL YOU ARE DOING IS TRYING TO STIR UP TROUBLE FOR HONEST WORKING PEOPLE.TRY TO SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY, YOU MAY FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF AND FIND YOU HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN TALK ABOUT THE ONES WHO DO.IHOPE YOU ARE NEVER IN NEED FOR A CALL FROM OUR BRAVE FIREFIGHTERS AND MEDICAL PERSONAL.

My, my, my isn't jealousy an ugly thing? Almost as ugly as a vulgar mouth. Do you realize that when you point a finger at others that you have three pointing back at you? Build others up instead of tearing them down. Try it sometime; you'd be amazed at how good it makes you feel not only about others but about yourself and your own loved ones. Kindness and hatefulness both start with you; pass only the kindness on to others. And by he way...it's spelled riding...not rideing. Stop casting stones over something that will not matter in a hundred years. Realize that one day you will be held accountable for the words that you speak...they are very powerful and so is the judgment that you bring upon yourself for speaking ill of others.

Daily Horoscope for November 27

Virgo

Going out could be dangerous on this wild and woolly day when anything can happen. You'll need to expect the unexpected and take special care in public places. Your friends and associates may need your assistance but they may also be a drain on your resources and your sanity. Romance can be exhilarating but may be tinged with just a touch of obsession.
