That is a dang good question! Are they still investigating?
Were there alcohol and/or drugs involved?
Underage kids? Using illegal substances?
Get ahold of the guy that runs Midsouth Newz. He seems to be more on the ball and more into getting the real story. Or you could try contacting the Courier, but the guy running the show over there is a jack @ss. He seems more interested in selling papers than protecting innocent people.
Get ahold of WBBJ news department. Until crap like kids getting the heck knocked out of them by wannabe thugs is brought to light, this kind of nonsense will never end.
Today's youth gone wrong, tomorrow's druggies and prison inmates costing the taxpayers a bundle for what could have been prevented had it been nipped in the bud by alert and/or caring parents and adults in the community. Give our kids something productive and good to do besides hang out and go to 'party'.

To the best of our knowledge,(a grain of salt please)

It happened at one of the quarries and involved some teens, teen girls, and possibly alcohol.(most of this is second hand)

One of the boys attacked was a varsity basketball player and 'supposedly' had to have his jaw wired after the attack...

Still have yet to actually sit down with the Sheriff's dept and get the whole story, so please...if anyone has any more info, feel free to e-mail us

you are correct about one of the victims being a ball player and having his jaw wired.
it was at a home, neither the home of the victims or the attackers, but a friend of the victims.
yes, alchohol was involved and they are underage, which i am NOT saying is OK, yet it does not excuse the attack nor should it let the attackers get off.
it should teach these boys a hard lesson in the risks of drinking.
there were teen girls there as well, and an of-age man that brought the attackers to the party actually pushed 2 of the teen girls down to the ground.
there was no motive, no provoking. these boys came looking for a fight, and sat quietly socializing among the party goers until a real adult was out of sight and then attacked without warning.

You are right the drinking the teens may have been doing is a misdemeanor but does not grant the attack with this type of injuries which could be a felony violation.

very true.
it is my understanding that any type of weapon used on someone instantly turns the attack into a felony. using a bottle and brass knuckles in this case, or even the use of a chair, a ballbat, a rock, anything....
whats going on down on water street to delay this case??

Maybe they have not talked to everybody that was there yet? Kids are afraid to talk perhaps because of getting in trouble for drinking?

Some kid(s) might be afraid to speak up for fear of being punished due to being at the party where this took place whether or not they drank. Maybe they are in fear of a physical beating?

Adults, please warn your kids about the dangers of drugs and alcohol making one's judgement not be the way it should.

As for the person that provided the alcohol for the party, my guess is it is a bunch of friends and some are over the legal age and some are still not of age.

u know there is alot of underage drinking going on everywhere. There are kids that post partys on their myspace. I have girls and guys showing pictures of themselves drunk and girls kissing other girls and these kids are on the dance team the cheerleading squads (middle school and high school) its pretty sad and then they label underneath these pictures that they are drunk or whatever. the language is pretty bad. i have a myspace and i look through my kids emails and their messages. i have caught words being used that i didn't appove of it and put a stop to it..most parents don't even put in the effort. they just take into account that their child is being honest and good. hello? they are teenagers. there are kids on there that post where the parties are gonna be and whats even worse is i have seen kids of the local police depart. on there. it doesn't make sense to me. if i can easily see this then why can't they? or do they so choose not to. yes some were 18 but the legal drinking age is 21. oh well.. not place to turn other peoples kids in. i just wish parents would check up on their kids is all...

I agree, you are a responsible parent and that is really good in this day and age. Wish more were like you.

I stay home on weekends and holidays as much as I can to avoid being on the roads when people who might have been partying are driving.

How many accidents have occurred recently that involved impaired drivers? If you take young inexperienced drivers and combine that with alcohol and/or drugs, that could be a lethal combination.
A lovely example

of just why a lot of the parents of the schools being closed are reluctant to send their children to the new schools. This is the outcome of the wrong influences they picked up among "friends" they hang out with between classes.
I have a to commend you for keeping an eye on your childs computer community practices. I'm shocked at how filthy, vulgar & lewd they put themselves out there for the world to see. I have language block on my little ones laptop & the 30 min she is allowed on it to use for homework practice is also monitored by me as I sit behind her & make sure she isn't distracted by pop ups, etc and gets off track.

they were told by mike fielder that they didnot have to sign an arrest warrant because the injuries were so serious that the victims did not have to press the charges, the sheriffs department would take care of it.
since then noone has been arrested to my knowlegde, yet the attackers are still running their mouths bragging about what they did to those boys.
