Every month I pay my water bill at MABC......and wait weeks for the check to clear. My check to the sewer authority clears within days. Why is the water company holding the checks for so long? They are right in town, it's not exactly a long hike to the bank. Yes, they post the payment to my account immediately but it is still annoying to wait weeks for the check to be brought to the bank and cleared. I've spoken with other residents and all tell the same story - the water company holds the checks for weeks before bringing them to the bank. What gives?
