I've read most of these posts and here a common theme, Police should no pursue in neighborhoods. Cville is almost 75% neighborhoods. So Police patrolling those places should just allow criminals who run from them go, because all crimimals run from law enforcement.I hope you don't they just don't stand there and put there hands behind there back and say "you caught me good game". I think it should be a requirment of all US citizens over the age of 18 to ride with a Police officer and see how difficult it is to do there job. I for one applaud the CPD officer in this chase, calm and professional in a very hectic and unpredictable situation.

I've stated before that these lug nuts have radios so they can catch these guys without risking life and limb, maybe yours. You also need to be aware of a popo's basic personality. Read any book on the subject, its quite illuminatig. They can say anything as to why their cops but the MO is always the same, Control.

So your saying society should do away with its police force and then do what? Any bright ideas? I say the police are there to apprehend the criminals and get them off of our streets. How do you all expect them to do that without chasing them? Great they have radios, cell phones, all means of communications. So they should all just sit in their vehicles on the phone and do nothing? Eventually one of them will have to chase the criminal. If you don't like the job their are doing then do it for them. So sad so many people want to complain and criticize others yet come up with no real answers.

Guardian wrote: <quoted text> They will say it was all the criminals fault, deflection works great when you can put all the mistakes made during the arrest on a dumb perp, and these are the same people that preach being accountable for your own actions. A cop could shoot an unarmed priest in church on Christmas morning in the middle of a sermon, and he would have still his defenders in this forum. That is just an ignorant analogy. So its not the criminals fault they broke the law and began this chase, some how society, you included Guardian, are to blame then?

Slow down there bub, I said nothing of the sort. My point is and I'll use a line even the cops use, you can't out run the radio. The whole idea is to prevent dangerous situations when dealing with high speed chases. I'm quite sure this procedure is taught to them. They need only to use it.

Ignorant is your overly simplistic view. It is clear that you know nothing of the concept of escalation of force. The damage one is willing to inflict to bring about the desired results cannot outweigh the benefit derived from those actions. You will never read about the cop that broke of a chase that was out of control that would have resulted in death and destruction. Those officers are the ones who put the safety of the community they serve over their own pride.

Further, if police choose not to obey the rules of conduct regarding their pursuit of criminals, does this disregard include perjured testimony, planted evidence, and violent abuse of suspects?

Well, if they can shoot and kill unarmed flower thieves, I guess they figure..... why the hell not? They figure the public is too afraid to do anything about it. Most citizens in this Country fear any involvement with law enforcement, because of their incompetence, and disregard for basic human rights. They are not all bad, but they don't do a very good job of policing their own.

I agree they are not all bad in fact most of them are very good its just the one i know who thinks he can do what he wants who he wants when he wants and he is above the law himself. I have been around long enough to know the one good thing is a cop like this one sooner or later will fall they always do too bad the town he works for will suffer.

Mr flash gordo is off the chain. No friends, no women, no self esteem, no humility, its really not worth engaging people such as himself, an exercise in futility. We should all just ignore him, probably like those he interacts with.

hey what about that shooting in Greene where one cop watched the other cop get shot right under is arm where the bullet proof vest wouldn't protect him. Did they ever remove the buillet and say what gun it was shot from? And wonder how the guy shot him from the backside right in the perfect spot where is vest wouldn't protect him, I bet the other deputy who was behind him wonders the same thing? But everyone knows the colored did it.
