This has to be the worst Va football team in 30 yrs. The defensive backs tackle likes it flag football. Its sad that UVa has the facilities that they have and put a product on the the field like this. Dont worry about a bowl game, just try to be the best football team in Charlottesville. WAHS , Monticello and CHS all have better performing teams than this.

Time to clean house. Start with the Offensive Coordinator. Four straight runs up the middle on 1st and goal????? In the top 25 for penalties??? The players are trying their best. The coaching staff has got to go.

I think it's a combination of both players and coaches. I agree the play calling was absolutely horrendous, but it's really hard to believe uva doesn't have anyone better than Demetrious Nicholson at CB. It has to be difficult to coach up a player that performs the way he does week after week. You can't really blame chronic poor tackling on the coaches, and the drop by Jennings? All the missed assignments by the offensive line? The personal foul penalties accumulated all year long that have cost the team countless points? Those are personnel issues. We have a lot of problems that aren't just the result of poor coaching...

I like Mike London. I think he is a good coach with good principles. He bring quality to the UVA football team that has been missing over the year prior to his hiring.
That being said, there are aspects of the team which needs to be addressed. Starting with the fundamentals, blocking, tackling and catching the football. Their defensive backs cannot cover and they tackle as if they never learned the proper way to do so. They seem to be afraid to put their pads on someone and wrap them up in tackling.

Has Bobby Petrino been hired yet? Seriously, with all the money the school has, hire a real coach. London is a good FCS coach. Richmond, VMI and Liberty would all be grateful to have him. But this is big time football and we really need a big time coach.

Not even the "Old Jock Strap" Bowl this year. Typical.

The blame for this MUST fall on the shoulders of Coach London. He hired the staff, he recruited the players, and he is in charge of the program. Change needs to be made on several fronts. First, QUALITY assistant coaches need to be hired, not 3rd and 4th choice guys recently fired from floundering NFL clubs. The alumni charity needs to stop as well. Poindexter and Hagans have no business on a BCS sideline. Second, let's stop the recruiting focus in Hampton where the intellect of the players doesn't match the game we need to play. Coach Welsh seemed to do very well getting average talent to over perform. London is a motivator, but he needs to stop being a friend. For God's sake, yell at a kid for once. Stop treating them like fragile puppies.

Good point about POindexter. He's had his hand in a lot of cookie jars over his tenure here, and none turned out well. I believe he started as special teams coordinator, sucked at it, so was moved the next year. He did running backs next, sucked at that, and was shifted. This year he has the DBs...nuff said!
Just because a guy was a great player doesn't mean he wil be a great coach!!

Not only did he run the same play four times, but it was from the exact same formation. Check out some film, how many times does the TE motion and we run away from the motion...never. Pop Warner kids could have read that play!

How true! Every major program has fallen since Littlepage took over.
