So the guy got shot because he was is black, and because he was holding a gun? My my, Longo better let the state police in on this one. I can see a very long court proceeding on this, the guy with the gun has probably already hired a lawyer and getting ready to file suit against the city and the cop. Millions. And he wasn't even in a wheel chair.

You are simply incorrect. The law does not require you to give any kind of warning if you feel there is an imminent life threat. Departmental policies may encourage officers to give a warning, but in the end, if the officer thinks that trigger is about to be pulled, he/she is to shoot the perpetrator regardless of how much time has lapsed since any warning may have been given. The only thing that matters is what the officer believed was about to happen and whether or not such a belief was reasonable. Obviously thinking this guy might be about to fire again was reasonable as the gun was still out and he was standing over the "victim"...This isn't just a good shoot, it's a great shoot. And I'm not a cop or anything law related.
I did not say the law required giving a warning. I said officers is trained to do so. If you think he can shoot without giving a warning, let him tell that to a grand jury or the CA and see what happens. Better yet, let him tell Longo that he shot without giving a warning and wait to see what happens.

Looks like Quick Draw McGraw may have shot a bit too quickly. Maybe it was never taught, or he didn't pay attention in training that when you give a command to put a weapon down that you actually have to allow for compliance before you shoot them. Maybe the officer had his own Two Second Rule, or simply had his finger on the trigger and shot the CCP holder by accident. That would also explain a wounding when they are trained to shoot center mass which usually means death to the one being shot. I knew Chief Longo looked a bit uncomfortable during his press conference, now we know why. Imagine that, a black man in C'ville with a CCP. I think this guy just hit the Jackpot !!!
Don't you mean Barney Fife? Just kidding. It sounds like the 22 year old and his thugs may have tried to possibly rob Mr. Brown and he wasn't having it. All jokes aside, I am glad that no was killed in this incident. The situation could have been a lot worse.

It would have been fine by me if the young thug had been x'd out. It would have been the appropriate end to his already too long criminal career.

The whole problem is that these Elk are not in their natural habitat and can become unpredictable.

It would be in the best interest of Elk and other inhabitants of downtown it the Elk were relocated to a northern territory, with a more natural habitat to fit their social matrix. Chicago or Detroit would provide an appropriate setting.

The guy's old....56...prob simply didn't hear. Plus, after firing a weapon without ear protection you get a little deaf for a while especially if you were near concrete because the sound is not absorbed.

We're assuming the cop said anything, he might have just walked up and shot the guy cause he saw a black man with a gun. Thats what we'll find out in civil court.

This should not have happened. Brock should have been doing time for his first gang related beating of the UVA student. The judicial system in this country is like McDonalds. A slap on the wrist and a Ya come back now you hear. Gather the whole gang up that jumped Mr. Brown and throw them in the Big House.
