Just moved here and met the welcome wagon!!!!

It was the 4th of July of all days.My wife and I were crabing and minding our own business at one of your beaches.An elderly man parks in the middle of the road and starts to cuss my wife out because we did not have a stiker on our car,First he asked me if I could read,he said I could not park off to the side of the road,In the meanwile his TRuck was parked in the middle of the road for over an hour.I let this go He then asked us for our sticker we informed him that we had just moved here and have not received our stickers yet.Mind you this is the 4th of July and we were botrhering no one exept this Old man.He again asked me if I could read I informed him evidently I can read as good as he could concidering he was parked in the middle of the street.This welcome wagon person informed me that he has called the police and a tow truck.Like I said we had just moved here and were trying to enjoy a quiet day at the beach He then called my wife a Bitch and I told him that he is way out of line.WHAT IS THIS CONTRY COMING TO WHEN HONEST CITIZENS CAN NOT GO TO THE BEACH .Ther is a man I did not get his name but do you realy want someone like this to represent your comunity,as I have stated We just moved into this what we thought was a quiet and nice neighborhood.Also there is a sign that said no dogs yet his dog was running around.I supose it is a power thing with him as is DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO...Thank you angry old man for ruining our nice day at the Beach.
P.S we will not only never get a sticker but if this is a repersentation of this comunity I will not be a part of this In southern Maryland where we came from Neighbors would welcome you and actualy say hello,not call a mans wife a bitch,He could have helped use by telling us how to go about getting a sticker..I know that 80% of all the cars there had no sticker,They were freinds of this man evidently because he was sitting with them,at there party,ALS THER WAS A SIGN THAT SAID NO ALCOHLIC BEVERAGES YET THEY HAD 2 KEGS ...

I had no idea I had moved into a DICTATORSHIP Comunity.

I will go to public parks where Me and My wife will be treated nice and not threatened or cussed at,By what I believe is an elected official.
People you need to think before you give people like this Old Man the power to represent your comunity.

WE moved to Arden on the Severn.
We just wanted to have a nice afternoon,and were treated like criminals.I wish I knew how to contact the HOA to report this guy,we did not hurt anyone and would have liked to know how to get this sticker.His reasoning was I was not parked in the right spot ,but I saw his truck parked in the middle of the road blocking all trafic,but he was ok because he was the enforcer.and he had a dog and the sign said no dogs,and he was a member of a large party that was there and they had BEER which also was on the sign that said no booze.I am so sorry that we had this kind of reception .and to cuss my wife out was over the top..

No not the Cape, I grew up in the Cape this old man was from Arden on the Severn.
This was at one of there 4 beaches.we have only been here for 3 weeks.
The irony of the situation is that I am a veteran.I can go to any Federal park and county park and any state park for FREE.I would like to see people like this to crawl back in there holes and leave normal people alone.I try to put myself in his position ,If I met someone who just became my nieghbor by moving in my area,would be to say hello and give them instructions on how to get the proper stickers.I would not CUSS his wife out and call her a BITCH.

this sounds like severn beach, they always try to kick me out because im a kid, but they cant. they tell me that i am ruining their peace when all i am doing is swimming or minding my own business, and i keep like 100 ft from these people, yet they still have the nerve to come all the way up to me approach me, cuss me out, and tell me to get the f*** out of there beach before they kick my ass. this is rediculous, and these people are not elected officials, just drunk, sp yuppies.

Sorry you had this experience. I had a similar one when my husband and I moved here 8 years ago. First impressions are usually correct and to be honest, that was just the tip of the iceberg...it didn't get any better. Doug is right, there are a lot of retired people here, both young and old, with nothing better to do than enforce rules that they think they are not subject to. In general, if the neighborhood you live in has the 'c' word (community), it is going to be a commie pinko place where your neighbors will hound you with all sorts of minutae rules and will try to impose their will on you. Better to move to a place without the 'c' word, without the block captains and officious little twits with low self esteem and high authoritative indexes. Life is too short to deal with these people...move now!
