Why do you refer to jail inmate confinement spaces as "beds" and trying to compare with the common hospital "beds". The jail spaces are commonly metal, unkept and unsanitary confinement spaces. The hospital beds are clean and kept sanitary every day for patients.

"Beds" could be a pile of straw in the corner of a corral. Who cares what you call them. For this guys pleasure, I'll call it a rack... You-they-us-nobody can build enough jails with enough 'racks' to satisfy the influx of law breakers. If this money was taken from these wasted efforts and put into education, it would produce desired results. If parents are not educated, the children won't be either. It's the uneducated that keep breeding like rats and producing more jail 'customers". There will never be enough racks or enough jails to satisfy the demand. "Customers" are standing in line and being born every day. The handicapped that are all mentally/physically distorted and discombobulated that can't take care of themselves are allowed to breed freely. Things will only get worse as this gene-pool is perpetuated. At the end of the day, it all comes down to education. Put your(our)$$$ in education, not building more jails. Learn from the white man, learn from their mistakes and misguided judgments. Neuter and spay the contributors to a deteriorating gene pool.

If you shift $34 million in access of the Navajo Nation currently being spent down by the Navajo Nation legislative branch of government to courts and corrections, the Navajo Nation will have a sound operating jails, courts, and public safety facilities. The recent posh trip to Las Vegas by the Headache 88's spent about $4.8 million in their week excursion (5-Star lodgings, stipends, reimbursements, etc.). Would it have been of sound mind to have use these wasted dollars towards Chinle jail re-construction? Better yet, use a portion of the casino revenues to build and restore all courts and jail facilities on Navajo Nation.

They also should create a chain gang to clean up trash and other junk along the roads and around the rez. Make them earn their keep.
