Carlsbad residents continue to be held hostage to the highest gas prices in the state. Albuquerque less than $3, Alamogordo $3.30, Clovis $3.13. Maybe we should organize a co-op to break this monopoly by one jobber and get reasonable prices like everyone else in the state. Any suggestions or civic "leaders" who want to help? Someone should do something!!

Anyone know of a cheap old gas station for sale?

Just remember that you'll need a environmental survey of the tanks...

Well you could do what I did. I bought a Toyoto Prius and get 50 mpg and haven't bought gas in Carlsbad in months. I am still running on gas I bought in San Anglo coming back from central texas. Alot of people think they are expensive but they are not...

It breaks my heart thinking about trading my suburban for a prius. I just can't do it, i'd rather see the gas prices go down like the rest of the state, although 50 mpg does sound great, perhaps I will buy one for an "around town" car, but I must travel in comfort.

Actually $22,000. Is expensive for alot of people. I know to those with good income it does not sound like alot but for those making anything under $10 an hour with only one income and children.... it is very expensive. Not to mention they are small cars. For instance I can not get a wheelchair in one. Gas prices just need to go down.

It was higher in Artesia yesterday, but the price of oil is coming down in the markets and that means lower prices at the pump.

Well I guess you have never seen a prius up close. A fold down wheelchair will fit nicely and lots of room left. In Texas, the Austin statesman newspaper had a bet with the governer when he said you couldn't get a bale of hay in a prius. So they took a prius to a dealer and they were able to load 5 bales in one.
So they are not a small car. No comment from the gov...I have a picture of it...
