I THINK THAT IT IS A SHAME THAT THIS PERSON HAD COMMITTED SO MANY CRIMES AND WAS CONTINUED TO LET GO FREE. HAD SOMEONE DID THEIR JOB RIGHT THIS INNOCENT WOMAN WOULD NOT BE DEAD TODAY. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE THIS TIME TO KEEP HIM IN JAIL. WHAT WAS THE MOTIVE???HAS ANYONE FOUND OUT???

I think he shouldneither get lifr in Prison without any parole or sentenced to death because I went to school with him and new him personally, and he is sick in the head. This is not the first time he has harmed innocent people.

This whole thing is a result of his mother(Wardeen Curtis). She knew all along that he was on the run from Indpls. she knew he was a troubled child, she knew he was a killer with no feelings for human life, but as his mother, she protected him. If you have a heart at all lady, you should feel totally responsible for this latest tradgedy. I hope you can live with yourself knowing that your boy has taken yet another childs mother from them. We really need to learn the connection here if any between Wardeen Curtis and Moss-Curtis then we might know why this all came to be. W. Curtis, it seems that your son had something against women and you ought to be relieved Sharde is locked up because he would've eventually turned on you.

I think we need to pray more. The devil is attacking the young people in every way he can. I just want to tell you to put it in gods hands and everything will be alright. The bible says a family that prays together stays together so let pray antil something happens. Young people go to church and pay attention. Giving your life to christ is the best thing you can do. And know that god will never give you more than you can bear.

I am his first cousin, first off I would like to give my sympathy to the victims family. This is an unbearable loss. Much prayer is needed and only God can deal with this situation. People wishing death and harm to people for thier wrong doings need to be careful, that is not of God either. God will deal with him in the way he sees fit.

Thank you for your response. I am the victim's niece and appreciate that your response is of God. I wish that this nightmare never happened and pray everyday that this doesn't ever happen to anyone else. God bless you and I pray that God has mercy on his soul.

I agree that you should not wish death on anyone.
But sometimes people speak out of anger not realizing what they have said. But to shardes family can you honestly say that you would have reacted the same way had this not been a family member. We don't know him, you do. Maybe you've never experienced the worst side of him. Maybe it was scarey going to school with him or being just an associate if his. I don't wish death on anyone but he needs to be put away for the rest of his life and I didn't even know him. If sharde's family and the system would have chosen to not ignore and protect his crimes this would not have happend. SO DONT TELL PEOPLE HOW TO REACT.

Please lets look at the situation as a whole. We can see that this man is clearly a troubled child and has been wrongly protected by not only his mother as stated above but also his grandmother that has to be convinced to let authorities in her home to put him in custody. There is no words to explain the REAL loss to our family....

Know this,

Nina and her husband has been together for over 20 years, he lost his bestfriend and wife.

Nina has an older son as well that she embraced like an infant...they had a relationship and bond that any son could wish for.

She is truely a person of great magnitude that will be missed!!

I grew up with Sharde McKinney and have known him his whole life his whole family has problems but his granfather and one uncle. His family has never left this earth becuase natural causes they have all been murdered or locked up.his father has just been released from jail after 22 years of his life and has a uncle who works for the gary pd. They would lock them up and be home the next day. This is not the 2nd time he has killed. He killed a yong man from Indianapolis in the summer of 2007 at Tolleston park but has he been charged NO. His mom moved him and his brother to Merrillville, Ind. to stay away from his other family and trouble friends but he still found away over there and stopped going to school period after getting kicked out. If his whole family was figerprinted and had there house searched he would not be the only one that should be locked up.

I would just like to say that i always pray for the family of the victim, this was horrible and a terrible nightmare, and i pray that God gives u all peace. Me and Sharde have a one year old together, he went to jail before she was even born, so ofcourse, im raising another little black girl with no father..and its sad, and im reading these comments just crying, saying wow, he is viewed as Satan, but u always have to know the whole side of someone, and believe me i woulda never been in a relationship and had a baby by someone who was a killer, i no he has done terrible things, and he is paying for it now, u do reap what u sow, thats for sure, i never will make excuses for someone, but i personally no he was under the influence of some serious drugs when the incident occured, i knew a completley different side of him...but ppl leave the judging up to God, because u too will be judged for judging another, how dare someone get on here and talk about his mother, and u have never been in her sitation, i tell u this world is crazy, we are victims too, we were hurt, devasted, embarrased, and completley crushed for the family..This is a nightmare that i am reminded of everyday, i have his daughter, i lost my mother when i was young, so i no how it feels to lose someone, and i hope that the young boy and his father can somehow find how to cope in life without the woman they loved dearly...May God be with u all the days of ur life, and may God bless me, my daughter, and his mother, cause like i said we are victims too, and u cant stop loving someone even if they do something as terrible as what he did, some wont understanf, but i woldnt expect u too, if u never been where i have....

Reading some of these posts send chills down my spine, it's scary that judgement and opinionation can become so gruesome but I guess that's life though. I personally would have to say that I agree with some but disagree with most for the mere fact that I also know Sharde on a personal level and this incident was a complete 360 from the Sharde that I know and platonically love! Yes, we can say that it's a complete nightmare and no one would want to be in this position of losing a loved one this way but bringing his family into it does not change what has been done and will not make the situation better. Also, I'm not afraid to say that if a lot of people were fingerprinted and their houses were searched (included those in the families of people making posts) that Sharde would not be the only one locked up, so let's be real and leave the judgement to the only person that can pass judgement on a level we all have to respect --> GOD!!! His past may or may not have influence on the situation but think about it, what would be your excuse if he wasn't viewed as a troubled individual and this same incident occurred? I offer my extended empathy, sympathy and condolences to the family of Nina Moss-Curtis but let's remember their are other victims here including his own family! As for mentioning his mother and her role in protection of her child, you can say what you would or would not have done in her situation but honestly you can't REALLY say what you would do until your feet fill those shoes. She's a mother and regardless of any situation, good or bad it is her job to protect her seed and that's what she did, it's what we call instinct, so blaming her will not give closure to the situation! Sharde is the one who has to answer to the things that he has done and he is indeed paying for that now and I'm sure he feels remorse for the terrible things he has been a part of. I hope that one day this can be looked back on and people will realize how much more fire is added to the flame when you choose to involve innocent bystanders in a whirl of chaos such as this! You can't say that if he was brought up a different way that this would not have happened because you have seen or at least I can say that I have seen people that have been brought up in church and still end up involved in the devastating lifestyle of drugs, murder, and everything else under the sun that fits into the "bad" category so don't blame the influence or the individual separately!!! God Bless each and every one of you!

I tell ALL of u what! THIS IS HAS CHANGED OUR WHOLE FAMILY!! He (hate to even mention or type his name)MURDERED A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN.. MY AUNT.. MY COUSINS MOTHER..MY UNCLES BESTFRIEND 4 NO REASON! This hurts deeper than the wounds that killed her AND my heart bleeds red tears EVERYDAY. This SHOULD HAVE been PREVENTED but nevertheless AGAIN they let THIS LOSER WALK! For the mothers of his children ESPECIALLY THE CLUELESS ONE..(ms. c. williams) "thinking" U KNEW SOME FOREIGN SIDE OF HIM! HE BEEN A MURDERER, A CULPRIT, SCUM, AND LOSER WITH NO REGARD TO HUMAN LIFE.. As we sat in that court room during sentencing it was THEEEEE HARDEST thing 4 me to look this man in his BLANK face KNOWING he could have CARED LESS of the IMPACT HE HAS DONE TO SO MANY FAMILIES in the short 22 yrs of life he has been here! HE SUCKS.. I HOPE THE MEN IN PRISON BUST HIS ASS HOLE WIDE OPEN TO THE WHITE MEAT and POUR HOMEMADE LIQUER AND SALT N HIS WOUNDS AS WELL AS A RIOT BEATING TO SHOW HIM WHAT SUFFERING IS!.. <--I MEAN THAT!! OUR FAMILY WILL 4 EVER SUFFER THIS LOST.. ESPECIALLY THIS DAY SEPT. 9TH !!
YALL MENTION BLAME.. THERE IS NO BLAME JUS INVOLVEMENT! AND EVERYONE INVOLVED NEEDS PERSECUTION 2 THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!! THEN THERE WAS THAT LOSER MOTHER OF HIS IN THE COURT ROOM "PRETENDING" SHE HAD NO CLUE THIS SUCKA WAS AS BRUTAL AS HE WAS!
The mothers of his children.. CONGRATS FOR LAYING WITH A KILLER.. BEARING HIS CHILDREN.. HECK ALL U HAD TO DO WAS "GOOGLE" THIS LOSERS NAME... NAH WHAT MORE U NEEDED TO KNOW!? IM SOO DEVISTATED THIS DAY! IT IS THE ANNIVERSARY.. AND AGAIN I SIT GRIEF STRICKEN WITH TEARS LIKE ITS THE DAY I GOT THE NEWS.. THANK U ALL FOR URE CONDOLENCES AND PRAYERS cause EVERYDAY we NEED them!!

FIRST OF ALL, to all u anonymous writers, this is his cousin.I long for your quickness of judgement da way you try to belittle my family .Look at our city and u tell me what u c .My cousin situation was a tragedy for both sides. What people need to do is look around before you get on a platform and annouce something to a cloud about someones mother because you have a mother 2 and im sure she feels da same way about you as my aunt feels about her son.Have more class and inteligence 2 respect a already highly emotional situation.Just because I broke da law dont mean my momma approved of it or was an advocate for it.Pay attion to wat you wish on people because u may wish it on you.Don't ever underestimate the power of da tongue because your words can plant a seed only to bloom on your doorstep later.Da struggle continues!!!!!!
