In order to get good decent people to run for political office, we need to stop settling for people like David Vitter.

We need to stop accepting subpar people in hopes they "change".

We need respectible people in Washington if you want Louisiana to be respected. These people should reflect Louisiana, not embarass the state.

We need people interested in Louisiana not their political careers.

We need people interested in putting Louisiana to work, not Maryland and corporations from other states.

We need people interested in getting Louisiana a fair deal when it comes to healthcare and education; not to mention money from the oil companies. It's our coastline that paid the price. We don't want someone in bed with the oil companies.

We need someone who understands Louisiana isn't only about the oil industry. The future is in green energy. Why aren't we on the forefront of this industry? Do we always have to be last??

David Vitter got my vote. As for NOT voting for him because of his lack of morals. It's sad. But none of them seem to have any. And Vitter is the better of the rest of them for sure.

Under Vitter we have
-$4 gasoline
- high unemployment
- trillions of $$ in debt
- groups like the GSA gone wild
- most social handouts ever
-......

Yeah, he's my man, too.

All those for D. Vitter: What has he done, besides embarass the state? Seems to me he is in bed with the oil companies. We need the oil companies, but more important that NEED Louisiana. Why aren't we capitalizing on this? Have you ever wondered if certain pockets are being lined at the expense of the good people of Louisiana?

If we had good people representing Louisiana, we would have a better deal (our coastlands in question - think about the people of the Apalachian Mountains - when they were done with coal mining; everything went to pot) without having to beg and then settle for crumbs! Louisiana needs to diversify. Will need oil/gas for a long time, but Green is the future! With the right people, we can have it ALL!!!

Great post. All incumbents need to go. Instead of attending to our needs they spend all their time on whats good for them and what they need to do to get re-elected. Career politicians will continue to ignore us and do what's good for them,

One of the reasons we saw the REALLY bad times is Allen Greenspan helped get rid of laws that prevented the "too big to fail".

Your attitude is exactly what Wallstreet wants. Let them do. Keep in mind, they became million/billionaires and hard working Americans lost their jobs, homes, savings and retirement.

What is the old saying: "for evil to win, all is needed for good men(women) to look the other way". I think it is called "complacency".

I am NOT willing to lie down and die; how about you?

As a society we use to SHAME the ones that did wrong and admired the ones that worked for the people to advance the state; now we make the crooks celebrities (throwing money at them).

New York sent Weiner packing, why don't we do the same with Vitter?

It's not enough to wait and see what the next person will do. We need to support GOOD DECENT people now (change our culture of "laissaz Faire").

Regardless of what corporate America tells you, WE DO INDEED need a check and balance system. I don't think they should police themselves. They have NOT in the past, what would change? Rules are what keeps us a civilized society. If you don't believe me, look at the countries in Africa.

You are right, Allen Greenspan is not employed, but his damaged was done and by the way he said "he made a mistake and is sorry". When he turns over the millions he made to a community pot for the ones that lost their jobs, homes, savings and retirement accounts, then I will accept his apology. If he, and other like him, were decent human beings, they would start a comuunity pot to help the ones devasted by the meltdown on Wallstreet.

greenspan was only the puppet of a corrupt system. federal reserve is not an acceptable solution, only gold and silver is acceptable as a currency under the us constitution. the allowance of the federal reserve to print paper to circulate as a currency is in violation of the law, more blame should be placed on these judges who sat by for the past 100 years letting this escapade to flourish while makeing the people peasants on the land. greenspan shoud be punished but so should millions more. no government employee is entitled to other than life imprisionm ent at hard labor and the liquidation of their assets to replenish that stolen from the people of this land

What a lot of people don't know, and I just recently found out is that Allen Greenspan consulted for a Savings & Loan years ago when Keating was thrown in jail when Savings and Loans were deregulated and run amuck.

He was SO wrong so why did so many Presidents since then listen to him while he led the country to the 2007-2008 meltdown.(I don't care that he is an old man now; give up the ill gotten money before he dies! His family is NOT entitled to it.)

All I am saying is he and alot others SHOULD be investigated, fined and jailed. The only chance of this is if Obama is re-elected. If Mitt R. is elected, not only will this be swept under the rug never to be seen again, he will change the rest of the policies to favor the 1%.

Corporations are willing to bring Manuf. jobs back to the US if workers are willing to work under the same conditions as in China (1% want the same power as the Chinese Gov't's Dictatorship).

No matter what Mitt R. says, keep in mind how he got his billions; not from selling products, pumping gas, mechanic work, carpenter work, cutting/coloring hair...; but from sending good Middle Class jobs overseas (high profit margins)! Medicare and SS would be in jeopardy; can you afford to put this man (puppet) in charge (to fulfill his bucket list item?

It's you future.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Taurus

Loved ones are hard to handle today because they refuse to do what you ask. It's a very trying experience but there doesn't seem to be much you can do about it. You might also see a new side to a certain person now, perhaps when they talk about something that's very important to them which you knew nothing about until now.
