It seems as though Ms Lively has chosen to leave her prestigous position at Hardeman County Memorial. She has not just asked to return to the position of a floor or ER nurse at Hardeman County Memorial, but has resigned employment totally and will be employed at another facility in the area. My concern is what does this say to the other employees about the hospital. Is it really in as good of financial shape as they seem to want to report in the Quanah Tribune Chief? I understand that people change employers all of the time and I can respect her decision to seek employment elsewhere and as an RN there are always employment opportunities available, however my concern is that she knew more about the actual stability of the hospital and chose to leave. Will there be other employment opportunities for the employees of Hardeman County Hospital that do not have a nursing license should they be forced to look for another job. Is the governing board and those in powere being fair and honest to the employees or are they just smiling and saying " oh, everything is fine, we are recovering, trust us" Remember the employees of Marble Falls were not informed of anything until after they read it in the paper.

I don't believe the board (strangely enough) has a real clue as to the financial situation. They seem to be happy to accept whatever they are told by "the powers that be" at the hospital and by the consultants. The hospital can't pay it's bills. The standard reply creditors hear is "I checked the system and the check was cut", however, what you aren't told is that the check is going to sit on someones desk for weeks before it will be sent. Even employees must wait for months to be reimbursed for travel or other expenses. I don't blame Carol for leaving. She had good intentions, but was in over her head from the start. I don't think she was prepared for the load of crap that came with that job! As for any employee that chooses to remain at the hospital, and wait and see what happens, does so at their own risk. Those employees who've left/are leaving no longer wish to be employed by an entity that refuses to do the right thing! There will be other casualties, and it's a shame. I'm just sad that the hospital is being held hostage by so many who have outlived their usefulness.

I vote we hire an out of towner,
give him a six figure salary,
allow him unlimited spending,
question none of his ideas,
and see what happens.

Most importantly we need to
keep the same board members
at all cost.

Quanah has had the same problems for more then 15 years. The same dumb butts squawking about it and doing nothing. The hierarchy is made up of thieves and liars that have been stealing from the area for years. About a third is on the take - the rest is split between those that care, those that don't and those that are clueless.

The only way the hospital will be able to make it is you would have to hire people not from Quanah and give them autonomy.

They fire people who have been there for years take people off salary and they have to clock in and then they lose money if they don't work. Always thought salary was wasted money.nurses and h keepers get paid by hour
Been that way for hours.hear Alex in Tulsa Oklahoma.

The number 1 way for a hospital to be succesful is to offer outpatient services. Yes you need patients in the hospital but have a visiting cardiologist come each week. Get set up to do eye surgeries there theres a lot of ways
