Step one, hire incompetent administrator to help me, the board members, move hospital money to our pockets. Step two muddy the water to cover our tracks. Step three find a scapegoat. Step four fire half of staff to help hospital pay bills. Step five declare bankruptcy. Step six, keep it going for as long as possible, at least past the two year statute of limitations. Step seven close hospital. Step eight make deal with Childress. Haah, haah, haah, Snideley whiplash strikes again...

I think that since the hospital has filed Chapter 9 and will not have to be responsible for their debt, then all of their patients who owe them should not be expected to pay their debt. It is only fair, right? It is clear that Mr Clark's pompous eloquently stated article in the paper was a prelude to this event. I do fee sorry for the employees at the hospital for they have worked hard and been loyal to a employer who has not been honest to them. Even if the hospital closes its doors, tax dollars will continue to be collected because they will be needed to pay on the debt that has not been erased due to the bankruptcy filing. There is so much to think about in respect to this hospital. It is my hope that at some point they will be held accountable for the actions that got them in the state that they are in.

With countless farmers in the past gloating and holding there heads high as if they did something great makes me wonder if the naive taxpayers of Quanah will embrace the board members for saving the hospital by filing bankruptcy. If so the taxpayers should realize that the board led the hospital to bankruptcy. With better more informed decisions this would not have happened and we would still have home health.

When is the parade in honor of th board mebers going to be?
The baord members are the ones responsible for getting the hospital to the point as it is today. Before they hire more attorneys and consltant groups they need to realize that everyone of those people have to be paid which is only worsening the debt.Pay your bills and quit trying to renovate and buy buy buy.Are you in cometition with the school and county,I guess so.
It is very sad that the smartest person on the board has prved time and time again that he isnt smart enough to fill a pothole.
As for the comment in the paper from Dr. Rohm.
He said "and I think for this hospital to survive its going to survive on the back of Dr. Lane and myself".
Someone should explain to that guy that the hospital is riding on the backs of every single person who works for the hospital, some even more than the two doctors.

Whats important is everyone needs to realize if you cant afford it then dont try to buy it,especially if you can only get it on credit because after all bankruptcy is just a legal term for theft.

After reading Dave Clark's weekly pontification in the Quanah newspaper, I just have to say; Mr. Clark, this is not a miracle coming down the road, this is reaping what's been sown.

After reading the front page of the Tribune Chief, I am sickened by the comments made by Dr Rohm and Dave Clark. I am glad that Dr Rohm and Dr Lane have the ability to carry this all on their backs, this being the case the hospital can save even more on salaries because they will not need any other employees. These two will fix it all. This would also negate the need of Dave Clark. I also question whether there was a quorum present at the meeting where the bankruptcy was voted on, and how can members not be present but their vote counts. It seems that we have exchanged one shady deal for another. I believe in prayer and I believe that prayer is important, and I do not object to opening meetings or sporting events with prayer is a bad thing. Each of the men listed in the paper who participated in this seem to be good men and I am sure they responded from their hearts, I feel that the way it was all reported was in questionable taste. We did not read that there was prayer for artificail turf for the football field. I am not against the Hardeman County Memorial Hospital, for it is needed what is so pathetic is that again a rosey picture is being presented. I hope that Marble Falls will not let them off easily. It is totally unfair for Marble Falls to have to pay the price for the stupidity of the decision makers here. I disagree with the bankruptcy and as was stated earlier, they need to clear the slate of those who owe them.

1. The hospital is not going to survive riding on the coat tails of the physicians - although their belief that this is the case is not unsurprising. Physicians play a minute part in the healthcare process. What about dietary, housekeeping, nursing, lab, x-ray, central supply, maintenance?
2. The picture is far from rosy, and what hasn't been said or asked, is what are the plans for Scott Nail-- he is, after all, with the aid and support of the board, largely responsible for the financial mess it is in.
3. Marble Falls should be paid what they are owed. Scott Nail as administrator should have been aware of the Medicare guidelines stating that a facility that geographically distanced was not allowed.
4. Nothing wrong with prayer. It couldn't hurt anything.

In short, most of this is due to community failure to ask questions, demand answers and attend meetings (although the timing of the meetings is designed to prevent just that). Going forward, I would suggest that the meeting times be changed so as to allow for more community involvement, and those in attendance should not hesitate to ask questions and demand answers.

Bankruptcy is prolonging the inevitable! The hospital will never recover and will eventually succumb to it and close! Face it our town is doomed!
