The food is good but really high priced for blue collar workers. We are not in Atlanta! There are several places in Lincolnton you can eat breakfast for less then $5.00...Tip included.

I keep seeing the ads that say "fair price" but I am torn. Most of the items on the menu seem to be combo items but still seems to be a bit much.

I went in to get a menu the 1st day it opened. The cover of the menu is totally directed at a certain class of people.

I also saw them serving as well as sitting guest as a real sit down resturant would. The place is too small for that in my opinion. Also the lack of parking combined with the horrible entrance and exit it doesnt seem that perfect (place to put a resturant) to me. There is a reason why KFC moved out of there.

I havent really been out in that part of town since that day...so I dont know if its getting much business. I have noticed Zaxbys seems a little empty at times it should be full. So, maybe its just that part of town in general.

Construction Workers when head over over there when they start on the Walgreens I am sure.

We visited the restaurant on Wednesday the 16th in the evening.
We were very disappointed. We ordered the "Hot Open Faced" Roast beef and turkey. All of the food was "COLD"! We have a do not go back to list and this one was added to it. WE WILL NOT RETURN.

Is that so Bob?

Hmm, have yet to eat in there but considering they bring the food to you doesnt seem like it would be cold. Sure it wasnt a mix up in orders?

Having a list like that is a great idea but I wouldnt just leave it at that. Make sure others know what has happen to you. The only way they can change it is if you let them know it needs to be changed.

There is suppose to be a new Deli opening up in the "I Can't Believe Its Yogurt" A few days ago the had a sign in the window that said Deli, Ice Cream, Coffee, etc coming soon. The sign was taken down a few days later. Ive rode by it at night on the way to Harris Teether and seen people inside and the lights on. Doesnt look like much changes to me. So, maybe they just added sandwhiches.

Again, a lack of parking but good luck to them. To bad that video store isnt there anymore...

I loved Zaxby's when it first opened up until this last two weeks. You hardly see any one there for a reason, they have the quickest drive thru in Lincon County. Pull up to the window and in no time you get your food.
Only thing this past two weeks, you do not get the same amount of food that you use to get on the Zaxby Club Baskets.Fewer pieces of chicken and a lot less fries. Those pickle spears arethe best I have eaten any where btw. They have a 101.0 grade and that is SUPER GREAT Ratings for me to want to eat there.

Unlike Hardees now, they make you pull up to the white line and wait for them to bring it outside to you. I will never figure that out,for you have to do that even if no one is behind you in line.
If they would use the two windows for py and pickup, we shouldn't have to move up to he white line at all.
Oh well, I give this City Cafe 6 months at the least since the business there before never had a chance it seemed.
Ryans has went up on their prices and no way can I afford that now.
Forget Sagebrush all together with those prices.
Thanks for the warning about this City Cafe then, I know that would be out of my pay rnge for outake foods. I can cook at home so much cheaper than eating out now days. Healthier also I guess for me.
Well, thats my say so on it all.

You know, I didnt even consider the drive thru I was simply refering to the parking lot. But I guess that makesense if the drive thru is quick you wouldnt see much people there.

About Hardees...I was in there recently and caught a sign next to the drive through window that seemed to preach against doing that unless the person behind you is waiting (or food is ready) then they have you pull over to the side or something like that.

I think at best City Cafe is wanting to be a resturant that happens to have a carryout menu. You arent gonna be able to guy buy a bag of burgers or just some random sandwhichs. Everything seems to be in combos which would mean its best to eat there. But the place is soo small and open its kind of hard to have privacy.

6 Months sounds decent but like said before I think when the Walgreens starts being built you can be sure the workers will rather walk across the street instead of drive to McDonalds or somewhere else. So, I would give it just a bit longer if it can get to Walgreens start date.

As for the place before it....*shakes head* the place before it was very odd. I never went there but I noticed the lincolnton times did TWO stories on the place. One story was about how he had the same resturant in Hickory and it did really well so he moved it to Lincolnton or something like that then went on to say that people might be wary of trying his food. And its kind of like um no its just we have Japan, China 1 and at that time Little China Resturant. Whatever food he had was kind of already covered.

The second story they ran was something about how his wife was still in another country and he was saving up money to go get her but he was worried that if he went to get her he would have to close down the resturant...and again its like that might be true but thats not the real reason the resturant is gonna close. Every day on their sign they had some kind of "deal" like free drink with combo or free wing with pack of other wings or whatever.

I mean you feel for the guy but at the same time you wonder if he sees City Cafe and hes like "D'OH!" but I really dont like for anyone to blame economy because when you go around town plenty of resturants and retail places are just FULL jammed packed at all hours of the day. So, it has to come down to the product or atleast the price of the product.

I just saw the name on the window of the Deli I mentioned earlier.

It says "Dagwood Deli"

Now, I tried to do some searches to see if it was a franchise but I am unsure. I see two locations at the beach that seem to claim to be the orginal and then they are like random different Dagwoods around different places.

The crazy thing is the other Dagwoods appear to be large sport bars where as this one is a much smaller place. Maybe it will grow.

I have eaten there on many occasions and was always pleased with the amount of food and the service was great. The price may seem high to people who go to McDonalds for the dollar menu! A cheeseburger and 2 sides is about 6.50, and thats to high? Everyone has an opinion, but give the place a try before you make your mind up based on other peoples experiences! Lincolnton needs new places to eat like this.

I think that might underline here. They are some who are unable to leave town just to eat out at a nice place either because of gas, car issues, age, etc etc etc....

So, yeah they arent use to these places and even if they are "famliar" with the place it might of been for a special gathering. You know?

Because that seems to be a common theme in lincolnton its fine the way it is if you want something else just drive to it because we are "close" to places like Hickory. But I think they are people would like to be able to eat at a nice place in town.

Once you get a few of these places people might now see it as being pricey.

hello again, this thing about it being pricey, alot of people may, may be like me. when we go somewhere to eat, we want to pay for the good food and good service from the waitress or waiter. some places want to fix the place up fancy, dim the lights,so you cannot see what you are eating, then charge you more money. some call it gracefull dining. i call it price gougeing, alot of this is going on in hickory, now it coming to lincolnton.it's good new places are opening, they just need to be reasonable in their prices or else they will close as so many have. i would say lincolnton needs a good buffet place, as the ones that are here just ain't cutting it. who agrees with me??

I agree. Sure, but the places we might disagree with although I can only think of a few off the top of my head.

I personally, would want an american style buffet its not that Jins is too different for my taste or anything like that its more like I dont think many familys (with smaller childeren) are willing to try something the kids wont like.

So, I am thinking Golden Corral. Its actually quite a small place and could fit in almost ANYWHERE in Lincolnton. OutParcel with Ingles. Old Lincoln Bank infront of Bilo. The OutParcel on with Big Lots. The corner of Bilo that is currently for sale. Oh lots of places.

Then I think what about CiCi's Pizza. Now, I am not saying this is a godly place because Ive been a few times to a few different ones and honestly each one was different. But a cheap all you can eat pizza for the kids or late night munchers isnt bad. The Little China Resturant at Bilo good place.

Then you have the Old New BurgerKing that is currently being over shadowed by the New ABC store. Ah, I honestly, can't think of a place that would fit well next to a liquor store. I mean this side of a strip club, pub, tattoo place...not really sure what you put that close to an ABC Store.

And of course, I actually believe in Ryans when Western left Ryans became the new buffet in town but it has gone down a lot. At best I feel this place could be rebuilt I am sure other Ryans have updated their looks in recent years dont see why ours couldnt.

The only one left that comes to mind with out Western Steer or Sizzlin I am thinking The Great American Steak & Buffet company. Their map on the site says they are all around NC but NC. So, there is a 1st for everything and someone could take the shot.

Its not a lack of location thats for sure.
