I don't really thing that she was trying to kill her baby she though he was dead. Our young ladies and men whom are active in sex, has no clue what it takes to raise a child. My heart goes out to this young lady, because I was told last night that my son might be the father. That would make me the grandmother, I explained to my son last night if this is my grandson, then we would like to raise him. God please forgive this young lady of her sins. I truely beleive she didn't know that the baby was a live.

I would hope that if you are the grandparent to this child you would be given the opportunity to do what is right by the child! I don't know how old your son is, but he would need a lot of support which I feel that you are ready to give! It is a terrible thing that happened to this baby, but he apparently is a fighter and has a purpose here on Earth! As far as the mom thinking the baby was already dead, so be it. She could have gone to a local hospital where she was at the time of the birth and notified emergency personnel then. There were so many other options! I am praying for you and your family!

KILLED him. I have a ten month old daughter, and I could NEVER think to do that, even if I thought she was dead. Damn. If you think the child is dead, you should call for help, not lock the child in the effing trunk. What the hell kind of response is that?! It has NOTHING to do with the age of the young woman either, that arguement is STUPID. I am an 18 year old mother, and I would never do that. It's the maturity factor, not the age. People get stupider everyday now, I swear. First of all sweetheart get your facts straight....she did not kill the child! The child a short stay in intensive care, but is fine. Secondly, no one is standing up for her. Ms. Wiley is simply concerned for the actions which were brought upon possibly her grandson! I can tell by your wordage that you are not as mature as you may think! Try cleaning your mouth out before you talk in front of your child! The children of today who are brought in this world by KIDS (including yourself) need all the help they can get! They surely do not need cussing, immature kids trying to tell them what is right and wrong!

First, I want to say that I am sorry for misunderstanding about the child dying. The way the story makes it sound, you have no idea what the outcome of the story was. As for my maturity level, ma'm. You have no idea how mature I am. Just because I use words such as damn or hell, that does not make me immature. I know the difference between right and wrong, like I said before, it has nothing to do with my age. Lastly, I want to point out that just because I use that kind of language around on the Internet does NOT mean that I use it in front of my child. You don't know me as a person, nor as a parent. Charged with abuse not murder...
From Fox News to clear things up....
GASTONIA, N.C.— A Lincolnton, N.C., woman has been charged with felony child abuse after police said she left her newborn son in the trunk of a car to suffocate.
Authorities said 22-year-old Sharena Waynette Bess is scheduled to appear in Gaston County District Court on Tuesday. The infant is expected to make a full recovery.
Police said Bess gave birth in Charlotte on Friday, then drove herself to a women's health care facility in Gastonia. She was taken to a hospital where police say she told personnel she left the infant in a box at another hospital. A search turned up nothing.
Police later searched her car and found the baby in the trunk wrapped in a towel and placed in a book bag. An arrest warrant said Bess "left him there to asphyxiate."
Bess is being held at Gaston County Jail on $100,000 bond

JUST TO MAKE A POINT, THE WOMAN DROVE TO GASTONIA TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR HERSELF. OH HOW I WONDER WHY SHE DID NOT HAVE THAT SAME CONCERN FOR HER CHILD. IT SEEMS RATHER APPARENT THAT THE WOMAN WAS ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT HERSELF. MAYBE OR MAYBE NOT, BUT THAT IS HOW I SEE IT.

Impossible that this individual thought this was a deceased child. Its impossible to feel sympathy for this person. There isnt alot of difference between this and cases where babies thrown from bridges or abused to death. Her parents created a monster with no moral values and luckily she wont have the option to pass those disasterous parenting skills along. She was 22 not 14. The maturity factor doesnt come into play. For the father, I feel in way for this family's situation, It must be difficult.But being a sperm donor does not make a parent. Its hard to imagine he did not know that she was pregnant carrying his child unless she was just extremely promiscuous. There are so so many good, caring people seeking to adopt a child. Hopefully this will be a consideration for this little one.
