4 plead guilty in Cherryville police corruption case

After pleading guilty Thursday in federal court to safeguarding stolen property and proceeds from their sale in 2011, three local cops and one Cherryville resident face the prospect of serving federal sentences for their crimes.
It all comes out in the wash.
Police corruption and other misconduct hurts everyone – including the police -- in terms of lost cooperation, support and trust – which, in turn, diminishes their effectiveness. That's the reality.
