I called the police when I saw the article in the paper. I did not recall the exact location until the next day. I believe it was located on the north side of Abbotsford Road between the river and Phillips Road. I saw it there around 1965. It was in a wooded area with only a handful of graves indicating it could be some type of private family plot. It was a bit overgrown and hadn't been tended to. I was hiking with a friend who had done some hunting in the area and he wanted to show me the marker because it was so old. We lost touch with each other until 2001 and one of the first things he said was , "Does the name Thomas Belknap ring a bell?" So that is how I knew about it. He now lives in Spring City, Pennsylvania and was so surprised when I told him about the headstone. We hope they get it back to its rightful place and I would be glad to help if need be. I left my phone number with the Yale police. Thanks and good luck. Diane Merriman, Port Sanilac, MI
