I thought Obama was going to raise taxes only in the rich instead of everybody. Everybody's paycheck is smaller now. Take a look at it when you get paid this week. Taxes went up for everyone.

The Social Security withholding was temporarily lowered from 6.2% down to 4.2% for 2011 and 2012. That temporary "holiday" expired so the rates are now back to 6.2%.

This has nothing to do with income taxes, which went up for individuals making more than $400k/year. It also had nothing to do with the so-called "fiscal cliff".

Pay attention and quit spewing bullshit.

Then you have a poor understanding of current events. The top tax rate went up for very wealthy people but not for everyone. The social security withholdings went back to 6.2%, the same as they were prior to 2011.

Wingnuts are stupid about how the government works it is almost pathetic.
The president can only sign or veto a bill, not add to it.
If you don't like the withholding tax going back up, then blame congress for not including it.

I thought republicons were in favor of fixing Social Security. That means we have to PAY for it. Why are they complaining about what they CLAIM they want?

Taking the cap off of SS withholding would FIX SS completely!

Every single ridiculous reaction (or lack thereof) to things that happen while Obama is in office is a mirror held up to the way you idiot libs and Democrats acted, reacted to , and behaved when anything happened during the Bush administration.

I feel so much better now knowing that my taxes didn't go up.

But my paycheck is still less.

My employer's expenses went up too since he has to match my "contribution", so he had to raise his prices to cover the increase.

So the net effect is that I have less to spend on stuff that now costs more.

But there is a silver lining. My tax refund will be bigger.

What was that? I don't get a refund? Why's that? The IRS took my refund because I don't have health insurance? I thought Obamacare was supposed to be FREE? You took my refund and I still don't have health insurance?

And you think the shit's gonna hit the fan when they take our guns? Wait'll they start taking those tax refunds.

Uhm, no. Employers paid 6.2% in 2011 and 2012. Read a book.

Yep. Put on your big boy drawers. Guess you should have written your congressman if you wanted the "holiday" extended as they neglected to extend it this year.

If Social Security is to be continued, it has to be funded. Pay up or write your congressman and lobby for elimination of SS.

Why the hell would you think medical insurance is free? You might qualify for a tax credit to help you out a bit. No insurance? That's $95 off your refund in 2014. Still no insurance in 2015? Then that's $695 off your refund.

Get some damn insurance and quit freeloading from the rest of us.

Same ole circle jerk as before the election. Republicans like verbally jerking each other off and telling each other how big they are and how frustrated they are that nobody listens to them except their fellow jerkers.

One of the many problems with social security is that it is not used just for social security the goverment uses it more like a general fund, the second is that the babby boomers are reaching age and collecting and our young people are not working to contrubite to the fund, they are sitting at home collecting from the government, I said it once ill say it again a man or women that is not working doesent want to, ill shovel sh*t all day if that if that is only thing I could find for work to be able to survive. Not sit at home an let the working people support me.
