HERE IS THE REPORT THAT STARTED ALL OF THIS:

(CNN)— The fact that Chick-fil-A is a company that espouses Christian values is no secret. The fact that its 1,600 fast-food chicken restaurants across the country are closed on Sundays has long been testament to that. But the comments of company President Dan Cathy about gay marriage to Baptist Press on Monday have ignited a social media wildfire.

“Guilty as charged,”, Cathy said when asked about his company’s support of the traditional family unit as opposed to gay marriage.

“We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that,” Cathy is quoted as saying.

WOW, STATING WHAT HE BELIEVES. HOW EVIL.

I'm not even religious and can see through the BS on this one.

You ask a religious business owner whose business is closed on Sunday's what HE BELIEVES and then are surprised by his answer.

Chik will certainly lose some business due to this statement. Will it be enough to truly affect them? Very doubtful, for the most part the only people who will take a lasting issue with this are homosexuals and liberal extremists. The percentage of Chik's business these people make up can't be that high.
Personally I commend them for taking a stand on their values rather than selling them out to keep from losing a little profit.

It's sad to see that some people consider bigotry to be a "Christian value."

Homosexualality is plainly considered sin in the Christian religion. Chik has not to my knowledge said they hate homosexuals,or even won't serve them. They simply say they support the ideal of marriage as the bible defines it. Christians can't support gay marriage because that would be supporting the lifestyle, therefore supporting the sin.

People and businesses have the same right to disapprove of homosexualality as homosexuals have to approve of it.

I never said they didn't, I simply referenced my sadness that "Christians" would consider a form of bigotry to be a religious value. Are they so vocal about their hatred of coveting? How about adultery?

Another over used word..It is their religious beliefs..Could it not be "bigotry" for those people that can not accept their religious views?

Ah yes, but it's not as easy for most Christians to avoid committing those particular sins. It's quite easy for most of them to avoid committing the "sin" of homosexuality, so it's no wonder that this is their "sin" of choice to rail against it. I notice Chik-Fil-A isn't mentioning anything about the sin of divorce.

SEVERAL YEARS AGO:

"It's so ridiculous that those people are saying they're not going to buy Dixie Chicks music or go their concert because of what that girl from the Dixie Chicks said," said the Lib.

NOW:

"I'm not going to buy anything from ChickFila or go there because of what the owner said," said the Lib.

Are those "hot topics" you see on the news? No. You don't have groups advocating coveting or adultery. I'd bet if someone asked Chik owners if they approved of "hook up" sights, they would say no.
