Is a Goodwill Store going into the Cumberland Plaza??? I hope not. They are a huge chain of stores. They do provide some jobs but they give nothing to those in need. Sometimes alot of what is donated ends up going out of the county where is was collected. What are your thoughts on this? At least the ones we have help our own here in Crossville.

Yeah the one we have here, Good Samaritans, isn't that good. You go in there and the employees have rummaged through the stuff before it even hits the sales floor, then on top of that the items that they do have is stained, torn or from the eighties. I can pay one more dollar for half that crap and buy one brand new at Walmart. I prefer to travel to Cookeville to go to their Goodwill versus this Good Sams. Years ago I was in need of assistance on my electricity, and they were quiet rude acting like the money they were giving was coming right out of their purse. And then they only gave 10% of the bill and I had to go to like 5 other places to get assistance before they would even help. Comforter $40 with what appears to be urine stains isn't very good samaritan of them. Total rip off, so I disagree. We need a goodwill

If you shop carefully you can some great bargains at Good Sams! I've bought stuff and sold it for a tidy profit on ebay. You just have to be a good shopper.

If Goodwill opens here in Crossville, I sure hope their prices are lower than the one in Cookeville. Cookeville Goodwill has gone way out of sight on pricing!

Just to let you know that they was really nice to me and helped pay on my rent which got stolen! i know for a fact that when my step father died we gave very nice things! so not everything is bad! you just have to look deeper, and the food they gave me was enough to have stocked my cubbards for at least a month! you are lucky to have these places to help out in time of need! i will be helping to give back before christmas! so make sure to give to those who are in need! for the holidays are coming! there will be kids out there that wont be getting anything! unless you give! dont forget to give to the animals as well! Just be thankful!

If you like paying 10-15 dollars for used shoes,$8 for used paint splatterd mens pants and $30 for used coats then Good Sams is the place to go here. If your house catches on fire, don't count on them to give you a piece of clothing because they won't. Even if you have 3 kids! I will never donate items to them again.

I, myself, see nothing wrong with what this lady is doing. After all, she is paying their asking price. In these hard times if anyone can make a little extra money, more power to them.

I agree! They are rude. Why dont they just unlock the bathroom like they have good since. This is how they do it i you have to go you have to get 9in check out line and get up there then ask if they will open the bathroom door they wont even give you the key they walk over there quite annoyed and open it like we were in kindergarden + all there stuff is over priced junk

I did think about it. And well isn't it grand that this is America. You can have your opinion and I can have mine. And they seem to differ.

And it is a free country so if someone wants to buy what someone else is selling and turn around and RESELL it, THAT is the AMERICAN WAY! Entrepreneurs unite! Do they check your 1040 at the door and only let poor people shop at those stores? When did they start that?

Hey there "Give It" you should follow your name's advice!

Well all i can say is if you have had a bad reason not to go there, then dont go back! they put a price on things that was give to them to help others, so therefor the reason the price is high on a item, look where those funds go to!!! they help when someone can't afford to pay a light bill or rent or give food to those in need! so one way or another they help those in need! that is my opinon! not saying that another one's opnion doesn't matter! just saying think about the long run of it!Have any of you had to go there for a bill to get paid, or get food? I therefor am glad that they are there when you need help!
i like good sams

Just to let you guys know the reason they lock the bathrooms is because people like to go in there and treat it as if they are in a truck stop. They even try and steal the toilet paper. So that is why they lock the bathroom doors. They also do price things sometimes high sometimes low. But they do alot in the community that you do not know about. They give out scholarships, help people pay their bills, they give out food, they help people with clothing, medical needs, and etc. I can go on and on all day long. If they didn't help you it might be that they have already helped you recently. They have to put a limit on helping someone because its a hand up not a hand out. If some people wouldn't make it a habit to live off of everyone else then they would probably be more willing to help more often. I love to go in there and shop. They have always been nice to me and my kids. I have also found alot of good deals as well. if you do not like Good Sams maybe try somewhere else and see if you can find better stuff.
