I am thinking about applying there does anyone have any information on it. Like what hours are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Do you have to start out as a temp. What do they pay? Is it a good place to work?

You apply through Atwork. They are taking in temps right now. You USUALLY work 90 days as a temp then start the process of getting hired in. You might get 1st shift as a temp but you will never get hired in on 1st. This is the most wanted shift there so the people already hired in have the chance to bid on them. So don't get your hopes up for that. Once hired in you make anywhere between $14-17/hr depending on the job you do. They have good benefits for you and your family if you're married or have children as well as 401K.

Just a heads up there is A LOT of drama in that factory. I know every factory has their drama but this one seems to top the cake.(no pun intended) A lot of people have lost relationships as well as their jobs over people up there. If you keep your mouth shut and your pants zipped you should have no problems.

And how do you know the above?

P.S. Spelling corrections for above:
"feal" should be feel
"empolyees" should be employees
"Armark" should be ARAMARK

Thanks for the info Tara. What hours are their 1st shift and 3rd shift? Do they work a lot of overtime or weekends.

It just depends on the line you end up getting. I believe most first shifts start at 8am there might be a few exceptions on a few different lines. 2nd can start anywhere from 2pm-4pm..like I said it depends on the line and where your at on the line.

Also be prepared for overtime even as a temp. During the summer they usually get anywhere from 41 hours to sometimes even close to 60. It pays good though if you're hired in..think even at the lowest pay of $14 every hour of overtime is time and a half. So, the pay can be great but they do tax the hell out of it. Still great pay though.

They seriously pay at least $14 per hour there??? Holy cow! I figured it'd be barely more than minimum wage, so I never applied there.

If you dont want to actually work and just stand around waiting for your pay check...You wont like Flowers bakery.. IF you think the world owes you something..Stay away from the bakery...If you like to work only whne you feel like it ,,stay away from the bakery,,,Until the Flowers family bought it,, It was a minimum wage slave shop...the Flowers family are from Alabama..Richmnnd played foot ball at UT..His Dad was Atty general in Alabama...That family was raised to work from sun up to sundown..And they firmly beleive in paying decent wages to good workers..Colonial bakeries is another good paying bakery in Atlanta,, The owner is from Tennessee but lives in Snellville Georgia.. Used to be my next door neighbor there.. Thats where I met the Flowers bakery owners. I dontthink you would like a UNION there,,Since both owners beleive in paying higher wages than UNION BAKERIES...

You can start out anywhere between $14-$16/hr. Just depends on what you're doing. You get a raise every year too. After being hired in a year you get 1 week paid vacation, 3 years is 2 weeks paid vacation, and it keeps going. They also give you most holidays off and you're paid for them as well. You can build up sick time as well.

What positions are available?

That just depends on the shift/line. I suggest if your really interested to call Atwork and request it. They will tell you your position before you go in.

I believe packers are the $14/hr job. They pack the cakes in to a box.

There are feeders, pan man, rollback, packers, and I know i'm missing a few. If you really that interested Atwork will give you a bit of info about that job you're getting.

I might just say to anyone who is going to go to Atwork and go to the bakery that it may seem a bit overwhelming the first few days, but if you stick it out you won't regret it because the big $$ are soon to come.

OH and FYI if you are a temp DO NOT CALL IN.

A lot of people will start and quit after a few days. I work through Aramark there and everything I've seen production do looks very simple. The only thing bad about it IMO is you have to stand in the same spot for 2 hours at a time. Depending on what you do you don't move around too much.

Sorry to tell you but the pay scale has changed a little bit if you are hired in after a year you top out at like 12.60 a hour,if your are a feeder it is 14.85,rollback is 16.29 and operator I think is 17.00 a hour. The pay scale just changed for the packers or production helpers is the title of your job if you pack.

Applied through Atwork and they said the pay rate is $9 an hour, no matter what shift you work. Why the discrepancy in pay amounts that are posted here? Is this the normal pay for temp workers?

Yep, that is normal for temp workers. You will work around 90 or so days through a temp service. Then they decide if they want to hire you in and you will go through an interview process with the actual company. Then you will get placed and your pay goes up to the ones I mentioned above.

You have to work as a temp for 3-6 months before you get hired in. Just don't call in or show up late because they will give you the boot..or keep you around and then NOT hire you in. If you show up everyday and do your job chances are you will get hired in.
