I wonder how stonepeak ceramics and crossville inc are going to hold up under the pressure when del conca and dal tile open shop in the area. The new companies already stated that their pay will be considerably greater.

I wonder why they are paying more than these plants in crossville? Theyve got my attention. Im willing to leave my company for 15 to 17 dollars starting pay.

That's not much more than ceramics pay especially when you figure in their performance bonus monthly.

Ceramics dont start you at that much. Where can a person get an application for the new place and where is it going to be located

Crossville Ceramics may not start out at that much but they do have a monthly safety and performance bonus and by the time you add that into it you would be makeing close to that. Plus unless you are planning to move closely you would be losing money in gas expense for traveling to and from work.

its not that far of a drive to loudon. The other plant is said to be coming to cookeville. I personally wouldnt mind relocating to loudon. Its would put me about 20 to 30 minutes from knoxville.

I heard that crossville ceramics was kind of prehistoric. Im not trying to say anything bad or offend anyone but a few employees there have told me that it is super old school.

I beg to differ I use to work at Crossville Ceramics and quit to be a stay at home mom and I still have family that works there. They are top of the line in quality. They are consistently improving their product and have state of the art equipment for production. I worked there for 10 1/2 years. Part of the time in Packing and Sorting and the last 5 years in the Lab. I worked on Quality Control and Research and Development and worked with some great people. There is nothing "OLD SCHOOL" about the company. They have a great product, a safe working environment, the pay is good and they have a monthly performance and safety bonus. How many companies today offer that??

If you buy the tile from the tile store and get 2nd or 3rd grade that's what you get second grade. It won't be perfect that is what 1st grade is 1st grade and you pay more for it. If a tile company in the US has been in business for more then 25 years like Crossville Ceramics they have to be doing something right. I worked in the lab and trust me, quality control and producing a good product is top priority. And it must be a good place to work you don't hear of turnovers like you hear about at Stonepeak. I would still be there today if it wasn't more important to me to be a stay at home mom. The pay was great and the work environment and people that I worked with was good as well.
