Country Place is now Life Care Center of Crossville. Life Care took over almost 2 years ago. All nursing homes have their good and bad points short staffed etc... BUT you can check each place out and just be up front and say don't blow smoke up my ass about this I want you to be honest about it. The nursing homes in Crossville are Life Care (by CCHS) Wyndridge (off of Genesis Rd) Wharton (in Pleasant Hill) and I have heard good things about Standing Stone that is in Monterey also. Best of luck

I have worked for WyndeRidge and LifeCare of Crossville, between the two their is no difference in them,a nursing home is always working short and can't take care of the ppl like they are suppose to,the State says only no more than 12 patients per cna, that never happens only when the state comes in,office workers and everyone comes out to help then so the staff isn't working short, most ppl at the nursing homes doesn't care they are there for a paycheck not the people.
As far as Quality Home Health goes yes they do home care but they have bunches of employees there that can't pass drug test and the only time they are drugged tested is when they are hired there, and got some very good thiefs there as well stealing from the elderly in their homes is the worse things that can be done to these people.
It's just sad that the elderly people has to live in stuff like this.
I do know what i'm talking about I've been a CNA for more than 20 years,I've seen lots and then you reported they don't listen they need people to work.
Wishing a better life for all elderly people. And May God Bless Each and Everyone of them.

i have worked both places and my opinion would be DONT go with wyndridge the have lots there that are only there for a check and do not take care of their residents at all they stay short staffed and the only time they care what is going on is when the state calls ahead of time to warn the are coming,,all nursing facilitys have there down sides but wyndridge has no care there is a few ladies there that take their job with love and compassion but not many,i was fired from there cuz of 2 techs being mean to residents and i took up for her and called the family in and laura and gary didnt like that they hire every type of drug head around over and over again the ones that were fired for stealing personal items and residents meds was rehired over and over again..
Been there done that

I went to life care to put in an application...It didnt smell bad...I worked at wyndridge and got fired because a nurse was snorting pills in the nursing home. I worked with lots of druggies there. I was not happy about it and called the state on many occasions...but yet they are still up and running. Also, The residents there are treated like crap and called names behind their back. NOPE NOT OKAY with that...

Check with the Better Business Bureau on all of the facilities listed above and see what kind of score each one rececived. Or call the state and ask them what their recommendation might be. Or just walk in unexpectedly and observe each one of them yourself, you will know which one feels right for your mother. Good luck.

I have worked and had family members at both Wyndridge and Life Care Center. Life Care is defuinately the best. They dont have as many people working as Wyndridge, but they have a much better class of people. You may have 5 people working on a hall at Wyndridge, but not be able to find any of them to help you out. The ones that have been there a long time know exactly where to hide so they dont have to work. Not to mention, I have saw old ladys crying because one of the workers stole thier quarters or shoes. I have seen someone come in for therapy, and have to go back to the hospital because of huge bedsores. I have seen people have to go back to the hospital because they didnt get thier medicine right. I have seen old ladys come in there walking everywhere and in 6 months they wont even be able to walk because the lazy workers try to keep them in bed so they dont have to get them out of bed. If there is someone who cares there, they have to do all the work until they get fed up and quit. The manager there just sits in his office all day and never comes out on the floor, so noone is held accountable. When I was there, there was a bad case of diarrhea throughout a whole wing because the workers would,t change thier gloves. Do Not Send Any Of Your Family To Wyndridge! They will come out worse then they went in.
Life Care Center is a little smaller, and has less workers but those workers care more about thier patients and actually work. I have heard good things about Wharton and have never heard any complaints, so I would try them or Life Care or someone out of the area.
