I had steak at the Q once when it was still the Q, not really sure what it is called now anyway, it was pretty good. Don't imagine the same cook now though.

I have been to Forte's twice. First time I got fish, only time in my life I hve ever had to cut fish with a steak knife. I don't even think a microwave could have made it that tough. The second time I tried the stead and it wasn't much better.
Vegas and Beef and Barrel are the only places I would go. Both are Good. Some days are better than others. Steak and rib combo is very good at Beef and Barrel, Prime rib at Vegas is great too.

sad as it sounds cracker barrel is probably the best, they offer an aged steak that's really very good. after that I would say ruby tuesday's (again, sad to say)
the steak at Tokyo is also good.
I'd stay away from Vegas steak they buy 'use today' steaks at local supermarkets and Gondola steak is sometimes good sometimes not so good, not worth taking the risk.

You must try GONDOLA'S. Been eating there for years and it is always the best.

I eat a Beef and Barrel regularly and typically eat their prime rib, usually the sandwich for lunch. I love it. The only other place that compares around here for a good prime rib sandwich is Boston's but theirs is not available every day. For other kinda of steak I usually go to Logan's in Cookeville. They are excellent at cooking to specified doneness. It is often hard to find a place that can cook a medium steak perfectly.

I agree Ruby Tuesday is not bad, and the ribs are good also, but I can not stand the smell in that place. Been there twice and it smells like a barn with a bunch of horses in it. I wish they would clean it up. That makes me think they are not clean and I won't risk eating anything where its nasty. I was there the week after the 127 sale and I don't know if it was several people in there or just the place but next to the salad bar smelled like B O real bad, almost make you sick. I just had to leave.

The only place in Crossville I know of for a good steak is buy a good ribeye and cook it yourself. Otherwise find a Longhorn out of town and eat there.

By far the best steak in Crossville is at the Philling Station on Peavine Road, yes it is a small bar and smoky, however, for $15.99 you get a hand cut T-Bone (this steak is huge), baked potatoe and a salad. I can't think of anywhere else in Crossville that serves as good. By the way the Pork Chops are excellent to, for the same money you get two hand cut pork chops (huge), baked potatoe and salad. And before everyone on this sites starts in I do not work there or have any connection, just like good food for the right price. If you can put up with the smoke (its from the kitchen not cigarettes by the way) give them a try.

I must say that Tokyo Steak House has the best medium-rare steak I've ever eaten at a restaurant.

The best steak in town, however, is only cooked by my wife and she does it with a skillet and an oven.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it smells bad at Ruby Tuesdays. Every time we go there I complain to my husband about the stench, but it never seems to bother him.

I went to Ruby Tuesday not long ago and the food was a joke. The salad bar is usually ok, but since we are talking about steaks here then that is a moot point. I've been to all the other places listed here and in my opinion Vegas is horrible! The only place I know of to get EXCELLENT prime rib is Stonehenge in FF. They don't have it on the menu all the time anymore, but when they do everyone should go try it. Legends doesn't use the same recipe and it is bland and dry there. Stonehenge is going downhill where their menu is concerned right now, but if they ever have prime rib there, I would drive 30 mins just to eat it again. It's worth it.
