A friend's family member has been at CMC for a few days. She was put in the ICU. She is still able to use the bathroom on her own. She just had problems standing on her own and walking herself to the bathroom. She just needed help to get in there. She said that she used the bathroom on herself and layed there for two hours before someone came in. She tried to call for help and no answer. I am just disgusted that they would do this to a person!

Being a retired nurse and in the ICU at CMC I can tell you this cannot happen!!! You may have been told this but check your facts before you diss the hospital, we need CMC in crossville and I have high hopes Dr. Wagner can bring us up to a 5 star hospital!!! Lets back him 100 per cent!!!

Sometimes medications of any type can cause our thinking an concept of time to be distorted. She may have "felt" like it was an hour.

Short story:
My Aunt was in ICU about 3 weeks ago. They had to take her to have some sort of bone scan or something??, and she was awake and alert while going to Radioloy/Nuclear Med Dept. After the scan, they took her back to ICU - she just happened to be asleep, but remembered she rode in an "old" elevator (service elv.??) She was put back in her room/ICU, lights were left off and, of course it was quiet. She roused awake in the dark and was very cold for some reason. Well, she called my mom the next morning and insisted that she slept in the basement of the hospital. We tried to tell her - did not stay in basement, but we got nowhere with her. MEDICATION AFFECTED HER THOUGHTS!!!
We have had a good laugh about this. LOL

If this really happened then you should go see the C.E.O. at the Hospital I'm sure he would rather discuss it with you rather then you posting on this site.
After what the Hospital just went through I doubt that anyone in the Hospital would allow this to happen. The Hospital now has posted signs all over the place with phone numbers to call if you have a problem.

Its sad to hear about things like this. We live in Fairfield and our Dr always recommends Oakridge for most anything other than a bandaid. Crossville is where you go to buy stuff from people that are trained to point and grunt.

i work at CMC and this place is a joke only one room in the ICU has a camera that is the one in the corner and most of the nurses where i work are very lazy and sit in their butts alot then they go home and blab about their patients if you think your business is personal there you are wrong just walk up to the nurses station and listen closely

I thought it was a policy for all CMC employees NOT to talk bad about that place??

So its kinda a mixed bag. They grossly underpay people, so when a good nurse or LPN, CNA etc. finds that they can make approx.$7 to $10 more, their gone. Seems all floors are short staff, which causes sub-par treatment.
On the good side the ER has saved my life twice from heart problems, so gotta show some respect.
