Actually it's not a rumor it's very possible. If you have worked there a significant amount of time you would know. Flowers Bakery 5 years ago compared to now..wow, just wow. People are hardly getting their 40 hours this is a huge deal seeing as how any regular Flowers employee use to get anywhere from 45-60 a week with no problems. They have went through so many temps it's hard to get people in there now and most of the full time employee's from 5 years ago are GONE. Whether they got fired or quit regardless it's there is a few that are left. Bun line came in for a year or so then they had it moved to Georgia. Now cake line don't even have a second shift..and they are slowly moving more robots in to do our jobs. So relying your job on people still eating snack cakes is not wise. There is not a job in there that can not be run by a robot. It's all about getting the money to do it. I honestly would be shocked if the doors were still open in another 5 years from now.

Moving in robots where? The only robots there are is in autobake. Those have been in place for a while. Everything on spinline and cakeline is ancient. Shape cake has new wrapers. But everything is done by ppl they pan, feed,RUN THE ROBOTS etc. If they did move stuff in then shut it down how much sense would that make?

Maybe you should do your research on what the other Flowers Bakeries are doing. Do you really think this one is going to be an exception? It's just a matter of money IMO. If they get the money to turn this one over to robots they are going to. And yes, everything now is done by people but that is the point of robots. And yes people need to "RUN THE ROBOTS" but it takes 1 person to run a robot that does the job of 5. I'm not sure which direction this Flowers is going but either way I call shut down or being run like most of the other ones with robots.

Are you guys seriously that ignorant? They're right machines/robots will eventually take over factory jobs. You know the last addition Colinx built on that huge tall part? It's called the high bay and does everything a picker can do but it's all robots running it. With the exception of 1 or 2 guys running it. And they just turned mini load in to all machine operated..this is the real deal people wake up and smell the coffee. Factories will eventually take away most jobs to run on robots. Why would they pay some factory monkey to do the job a machine can for free?

It seems to me that in order to survive in our ultra technical workplaces, you better know how to fix things. Its elementary

One man can fix and keep 100 robots running so your point is moot.

My brother works there and has been for the last 8 years. He has been working 6-7 days a week now with a day of every 2-3 weeks. In this town there is work if you are willing to work. most of the people who belly ache are the ones who work long enough to get there fix then quit. I'm thankful we have Flowers it's the only things keeping this town from smelling like meth heads.
