They're selling laying hens now instead of eggs.

I do very limited food shopping at Walmart. I basically buy pantry items there.(cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth etc) I find that they have VERY limited items. I have never found Progresso cream of mushroom there. Very limited on cleaning products too. What has really annoyed me in their money savings efforts they have quit playing music!! When we went to Crossville last month we ate in Calhoun GA and went to walk the walmart that was next door. Not only did they not have the music on but half the lights were out!! Crossville music was off too. the employees have been told that it was because of customer complaints and I call BS. They have topay money for the music. I think Walmart is hurting and it is showing. The Walmart by me has some very unhappy employees now. When people leave they are not re-hiring to take the slack.

I really don't like going, but I am not going to pay pro shop prices for golf balls or 25 cents more for a can of soup that I use for gravy etc.

I would kill for a Dollar Market here. The actuall Dollar General that was closest to me has closed because the Grocer was going to sue them for selling food products so going to one now is just really inconvienent.

They have empty shelves because an unlimited number of people go there in hoards and buy the (seemingly) cheap chinese-prison-labor-made goods, all the while robbing Americans from their former manufacturing jobs.

In short, irresponsibly-clueless shoppers cause empty Wal-Mart shelves.

What you people fail to realize is that America is soon going to turn into privatized prisons that manufacture cheap crap for Wal-Mart and our government will find every reason to put us into jail for that purpose. Wake up and shop anywhere but Wal-Mart.

The empty shelves for the most part aren't from a lack of product. Walmart has cut hours to an extreme low. This is why there are long lines almost every day.(and at night time it is even worse).
You can hear the customer service managers panic every day, and call for all available cashiers to go up front and run a register. This helps some, but is mostly masking that problem. This also takes them away from their jobs and so they have even less time to fill the shelves.
If you want something done about it walk out when the lines are long.( they really panic when that happens) Complain a lot call people higher up than Roy Howard. He has no control over it. The guy cutting hours thinks everything is going fine because the managers here let him think that. They get larger bonuses in the end.

Just boycott the place. Wal-Mart is killing America. Wal-Mart's combined store square footage is larger than Manhattan Island in New York.

Easier said than done.

Where do you buy "real clothes"? Macy's? check the tabs on where those close are made too. It used to be if you bought clothes at a high end store you got high end. It is not the case any longer IMO. A 40dollar pollo shirt to wear to golf in will not last any longer than an 8 dollar pollo shirt from the dollar general store. Golf balls from a pro shop do NOT get lost later than golf balls from Walmart. It is next to impossible to not go to Walmart for something. I don't care who you are or what you are or how rich you are. You will go to Walmart.

you are so right. name brand clothes are so ridiculously marked up you would have to be an idiot to buy them. at least you can afford walmart clothes. after all, if you have any kind of an imagination, you can put together a cheap outfit and still look good. there is a store over by krogers that sells clothes and i think they are all made in vietnam. overpriced.

No, I won't go to Wal-mart. I'd rather starve than to go to Wal-Mart.

I don't *need* a polo shirt. I don't *need* golf balls.

It is exceedingly easy not to go to Wal-Mart. You just don't. It's that simple.

There's a JC Penny in Cookeville. There's some kind of outlet mall there on the Genesis Road from what I understand.

Kroger has gasoline that's about as cheap as the Wal-Mart gas. You just have to decide to shop at more than one store in town. You can't go with the convenient way of showing up at Wal-Mart and signing over your paycheck to them.
