We have had God taken out of our schools, county and city offices, in several states and municipalities, and God is not welcome in our society. They even thought about taking "In God We Trust" out of our money. Now when watching the swearing in of Obama and his trusted pal and buddy, I listened to the references to God focused on many times in this event. Now what is wrong with that picture? Does our Government have the attitude, "dont do as we do, just as we say?"
i dont know about you all, but this makes me sick. Then Barrack had a Bible to put his hand on to get sworn in. Now does this sound hypocritical for our government or what, Especially since so many things are being done to take our own freedoms away.

Would you want a Jew teaching your kids about God in class? A Catholic? A different sub-denomination of Baptist? A, gasp, Muslim?

You are still free to shout "Look at me, notice what a fine Christian I am!" without fear of being arrested...and we are still free to consider you a self-righteous hypocrite who needs to re-read Matthew 6. We're both happy...and free. Quit your whining. You watched the inauguration hoping to be angered. You got what you wanted. What a sad life.

"In God we trust" was adopted as the official motto of the United States in 1956 as an alternative or replacement to the unofficial motto of E pluribus unum, adopted when the Great Seal of the United States was created and adopted in 1782.
"In God we trust" has appeared on most U.S. coins since 1864 and on paper currency since 1957.

Creationists took out E pluribus unum, why can't we take out "In god we trust"? At least E pluribus unum covered everyone, not just a particular religion.

Dead, buried, and unwelcomed in the modern incarnation of the Republican party.

The whole day was awe inspiring!

I think Obama will make a great 2nd term president and we will be in so much better shape after these 8 years than when he became president.

I just pray to GOD that the country doesn't go insane and elect another republican president in 2016.

Go Joe! Let Biden be Biden!

Exactly. When someone says they want god in schools, what they actually want is Christianity in schools.

"TRuth" you are exacelly right .Obama is President so deal with it he was voted in and has had a lot on his plate to work with fromt the very beginning. As far as religion in school I believe there should be but I also dont want a not believer in God Preacher to my child in school. or some of the other religions. But religion in schools was not there wne Obama became President so dont blame that on him. It seems that everytime things arent what people want its all the Presidents fault well open your eyes the economy is getting better it just takes time so instead of being neg all the time why not try to be a little postive and and work together to make this word a better place. Think about it a little!!

I agree with a few peoples post. I believe that God isn't removed from the schools. He is with me everyday, everywhere I go. He is where you allow him to be. He is in my heart. I am not one to push my religion onto people, and I feel that if you want to have, say the ten commandments, posted on the wall then you need to have all religions "ten commandments" posted. We are free to believe what we want to believe, and shouldn't be subjected to seeing one take presence over another. The government and religion is supposed to be separated anyways.

It just me? When I grew up if you wanted god in school then you went to private school. What the hell is the matter with you people, do you have any idea of the cost of having all the different religions in our school? Are you willing to have your taxes raised considerably to pay for it? How do you deal with the families that don't worship? Its a logistical nightmare. I have the answer... keep all religion out of public schools, done, easy. If you want religion in school, then pay for private school.

Oh I forgot the whole topic matter at hand the ball that the president had. I just wonder all the money that that took to pay for the food along, not to mention the staff, the utilities. I'm sure I could have lived for a year off what they spent in this one day. People are so please, well why not have a nice little dinner with your family in celebration of being president again and be done with it. No we got to put on a big show. People wake up and see that this big show that was publicized was a slap in the face at all us working people that bust butt day in and day out to never NEVER see something like this in our household, but yet we allow this man to spend our money this way. It's an outrage

Inaugural balls are not a government function and are not paid for with public funds.

I was thinking the same thing all day yesterday. I kind of somewhat understand why they thought it was a good idea but at the same time it took a lot of attention away from the man that day was set to honor.

No matter who the President is there would have been a Inaugral Ball so "Comeon" stop trying to find fault in our president. If he had been a Rep and not Dem it would be ok. This is so crazy deal with it people we have a President and the economy is getting better so stop complaining and make the best of things. As far as religion in school i agree God will be with us. BUT the students can pray on their own before a game if they want to. But would you want a non believer in our schools well thats a religion also so when we pray to God each morning do you want to pray to the devil to, watch out what you ask for!!! All religions will have to be treated equAL!!

I tuned in to see it but the station was playing a Jefferson's movie. I didn't really watch it, just looked like George and Weezie were walking around Washington D.C. Did I miss anything?
