Good Samaritan's is too over-priced and you can tell that it has been picked through. The furniture there is very used and you don't know where it came from. I just don't understand why it is so high priced in such a poor town. I thought they were there to help people in need and allow them to purchase something they could afford?

The new Thread of Hope thrift store is very nice and reasonable. The prices go down on some things, so they can make room for new, which is nice! Next to Thread of Hope, I like the Paws Variety store by Big Lots.

Went to the Thrift store next to the new Burke's Outlet (Thread of Hope, or something) Daughter picked up a snow globe...couldn't have been more than 3" tall....she asked if she could get it....I said well sure...Until she turned it over...$8.50....OMG...I don't care what name brand things are...IT'S STILL A FREAKIN THRIFT STORE....I like Paws....and Good Sam's is ok....prices are heading sky-ward though...They're like big indoor yard sales...

I agree that the prices at some of these places are way to high for what they have. Many items have sat there for 6 months or more. Too badd, sice they could be getting money right now it they priced it right.

They should have a "half price" day once a month to clear out stuff. I've seen it done at other thrift stores and it works.

Whats up with all the ebay auctions they have printed next to the items at good sams? They don't put the completed auctions there just a listing. There are all sorts of over priced listings on ebay, just because someone listed it at something sdoesn't mean that is what it is worth. COMPLETED means that what is actually sold for......

I think they are wanting to show you how much it could go for...that way they could justify their price.

Considering the thrift stores get thier stock for nada, whatever they make is pure profit. I hate that they ruin vintage boxes with tape and they put rubber bands around silver plate and other things that ruin the value to true collectors.

And if you are smart, you can find really good stuff that still is priced well.
