have you ever noticed the insensitive, childish people who stalk handicapped men and women in walmart?! guess ur one of them... and most people who are severely overweight actually have a disease such as hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.(dont know if i spelled them correctly) some people really CANNOT help what they look like or their weight. so who are you to judge if they're "just fat"? thats just uncalled for.. and some people who are overweight or obese cannot stand long because of knee or hip replacements. take a walk in their shoes before u decide to put them down. u dont know about how they feel or anything until u've lived their life and had to TRY to keep moving on when pricks like you are walking behind them making fun of them every day. get a life... u must have VERY LOW SELF ESTEEM to be picking on people with problems. u should pitty them for having to live the way they must.

Noticed???....how can you NOT notice?

Hell...I've seen them driving the streets with those things!

Twinkies?...well that's definitely part of the problem right there.

I never touch that stuff...I'd rather have fruit.

Oh well..I'm going bicycling for the afternoon.

Its kind of hard to be fat when you bicycle a couple hundred miles a week.

I have no simpathy to those who bring on that problem on themselves... to say they can't help it is complete bullshit. Electric carts aren't helping the situation. Get off your a$$ and do it like everbody else. Think of all the old and disabled people that ACTUALLY need those carts.

I have yet to hear or read anything that has atttributed the growing obesity problem to any strange new diseases. People are eating the wrong foods and are not excercising. Blame it on any thing you want if it makes you feel better about yourself. It is a lazy society that doesn't get off their fat asses if they can help it. Shoving fast food down their throats while driving around waiting for a parking place closer to the door.

God given right to ride a scooter? I guess I missed the sermon on that scripture. I suppose you think it is your God given right to squeeze into an airplane seat and squeeze me out of my paid for space?

Does overweight sound better than FAT?

I truly hope that it does not happen to you...a car wreck..thyroid problems...accidents happen and cause people to be disabled and they can't help the fact that they can't go bike riding or exercise like others that still can. There is nothing you can do about an accident thats why it is called that and there is nothing you can do about a disease that your born with or have gotten with no control of your own. Trust me I know people who would love to go running again or RIDE A BIKE but can't because they have metal in their knee's and can't. So they may just look fat and lazy to you but until you know EXACTLY what they are going through then don't judge them because I promise what comes around goes around and you will find yourself in one of those chairs and you WON'T WANT TO BE THERE!!!!!!

We got you being ignorant. People shouldn't have to be tolerant of you either bud but we are.

And we got Florydyan over here sittin in florida telling everybody how he's better than everyone else yet again.

Goodness your WINNING with this thread chowder head.

Obesity is a problem in our society yes but your offly much like pantywaste for picking fun at the people it affects.
The majority of people who pick fun and bully others is often a person with huge flaws themself. Its ok to hate yourself loser :) but don't put down others.

The food that our government has labeled 'safe' is what's caused it all. If there were no diners and fast food, preservatives(sp?) That's in our canned goods etc to make it 'edible' years later. I could go on.
But it tastes good..we eat it.
Just my opinion.

I am overweight, mostly my fault, but I have a pinched nerve in my back. Only hurts (and goes numb) when I stand or walk. I expect to live with it because I HAVE NO INSURANCE. I go to Walmart once a month & I have to use a scooter. I am very ashamed because I know there are people like you all laughing at me. I have 17 grandkids & sometines I do buy junk food for them. And sometimes I sneak & eat some. Get a life & stop making fun of people. You could be there in a blink of an eye.

Am I telling everyone I'm better?
Well...I'll tell you this.
Its take a certain amount of self esteem in order to push yourself out of bed...the recliner...the couch...whatever, and to make yourself DO THE WORK!!!
I won't apologize to anyone for loving myself more than they love themselves.
If you want to call it narcissistic of me for the sake of finding a flaw that lets you off the hook..(in your mind anyway)..then go ahead, but being unmotivated and unwilling to do anything one's weight problem is truly a sign of more serious issues.

Gee Big Sexy...do you trust the food you see in the store because the government allows it to be there?
Is that what you were saying?

Yes..the government has DROPPED THE BALL...they have severely screwed up IMO by ever allowing anything HYDROGENTED or HYDROLYZED to be added to our food...not to mention HIGH FRUCTOSE.
Horrible failures by our FDA, but despite that you can control your own fate by reading about what these things are and reading the labels of the things you buy.

Homer Simpson is funny because he's an IDIOT and not an example to follow.

Don't sound like such a victim Big Sexy....you don't have to be unless you simply refuse to change.

I for one have thyroid disease and breathing problems, I am on oxygen and have therapy on my lungs, which consist of walking on a tread mill, riding a bicycle, and walking alot. I weigh a mere 125 pounds because my body burns so many calories just trying to breathe, that I lose weight rapidly. I for one hate it when I go into walmart and see people in the scooters that does need to walk, there are even people who let their kids ride with them, give me a break, get a cart and push it, It WILL help you and NO, I have never even sit down in one of those things because I dont want people looking at me, and wondering what is wrong, and it amazes me when someone joy riding in the scooter just looks at me like im stupid when Im stopped in the middle of the aisle, so out of breath that I cant speak. I believe a little bit of will power goes a long way

I was in walmart one night and saw clothes racks hitting the floor like big trees and I wondered what was pushing them over so i had to investigate and saw a woman which was wider than the electric scooter she was riding doing all the pushing with her arms and elbows. LOL it was like watching The discovery channel Swamp Logger tv show!

Quoting the bible properly would say, let the fat person with the cart buy a box of twinkies so they will need to ride forever. haha

Agreed! A disease is terrible. A disability is terrible. However, being severely overweight/obese is a choice. If the extremities won't allow for physical activity fine. That's when an adjustment of caloric intake comes in. I am not the world's smallest person, in fact I struggle with my weight daily. But I make the decision every morning to eat right or not, to exersise or not. If I quit watching my food intake and cut out the physical activity...I'd be in an electric scooter with knee problems, thyroid problems, hypertension, diabeties, etc, etc, etc. So no one can HONESTLY say being morbidly obese is unavoidable

I know personally of a young man, who is about 27, or 28 at the present time. His mother has overfed him everyday of his life. Instead of one slice of cheese cake she gave him the whole thing. Instead of healthy drinks, he always had a bedroom full of soda pop. Instead of a small cup, she fixes him still, a "bowl" of hot chocolate with a straw. His grossly overweight stature has prevented him from becoming a useful and active human being. Socil security is his only income. Thats something for a young person his age. Sitting in his over stuffed large recliner, watching pokeman, playing on the internet, and wishing he could be normal, are the only activities he knows today. He has been made to think he has diseases, or disorders, has been "spoiled" into thinking that he needs medical attention all the time, everyday of his life. He should be attending college, working in a field of his choosing, instead of supporting he and his mother with government funds. an exercise program should be implemented, locks should be put on the fridge, and a minimal calorie diet are the only answer to this problem. Like the 1000 lb man, he will have to be taken out of the house after they knock down the exterior walls. But before this happens he will be in a motorized cart, asking someone to get twinkies off the top shelf, due to the fact that he is too lazy to get up off his fat ass to do anything for himself. I think he should give his mom and extra special gift on mothersday for ruining him all his life. Good habits should have been implemented to assure his health and well being. I hope to see this young man in walmart tomorrow, in the twinkie aisle, riding a scooter, hoping that the overweight condition he suffers from, hasnt killed him.
