Fire Destroys Three Units in Sumter

Sumter County fire investigators say a Monday afternoon blaze did damage to three units, displacing at several families.

That is exactly why one doesn't leave pot on the stove. It should be in little plastic bags or in a stash somewhere that it won't come into contact with burners or flame sources until ready to be smoked.

i live in south forge apartments.its scary to think someone would leave a pot unattended.i never leave the stove while it is on.i hope that in the future others are careful.

i feel sorry for the lady i left a cast iron frying pan on the stove before that i had fried chicken in luckily i caught it before the house burned down, but the pan was on fire i got the scars from it til this day and that was 30 years ago.2nd and 3rd degree burns.

The Apartment Complex was not South Forge Apartments - It was Spanish Gardens. These are two separate apartments completely.

it was south forge...it's no longer called spanish gardens. that was like the 15th call there this year.
