Wow that could have been a huge tragedy. There was a W.H.P.D officer that was directing traffic at the intersection and guiding people thru the crosswalk. This family tried to cross the street 40 yards from the crosswalk. Looked like the child was going to be ok, thank god!!!

or sir should I say. I guess it would help if I read the names. My apologies. The girl goes to dance class with my daughter. What was sad, the girl thought repeatedly that it was her fault, without being aware of what wounds she had, she apologized to her mother over and over again. While the mother was in shock, the city upon White House Police Department and Dr. Jordan and Jenkins of White House locaction, Crosroads Medical Center, let me check her head and her vision to make sure there wasn't any internal bleeding, I was actually in shock that a 9 yr old could be so selfless and only cried when she thought she was in trouble with blood dripping from her face. Then she tried to sit up while everyone was telling her to lay back which could have been even more fatal due to the location of where she was bleeding. I had to ensure them she had to sit up or the accident would result in a major fatality. While she sat up, her blue eyes looked at me while I asked her if she could see me and hear me, she asked "Am I dreaming?" I told her no, but the thing is...she is going to be okay, and have the biggest Christmas ever!! That entire night, I kept on thinking to myself as I am a combat medic from the army. My daughter turns 9 yrs old in 4 days, and I always keep her on the opposite side of the road. The mother of this 9 yr old girl, I saw their hands instantly come apart as the SUV hit her left leg spinning her clockwise and the back tire going over her head. Even though this is heart felt to me, I am praying immensely, that all parents walking on foot in route of moving vehicles to please keep any child on the opposite side of you. If I could, I would have taken this child's place just so she didn't have to experience this.

I was at the parade and knew was an accident because was sitting at Freds and could see all the emergency vehicles.. I am soo praying for this child AND her family.. and that they catch the one that did this if it was a hit and run which is what I heard it was.. not sure how ANYBODY could hit anyone and run esp like this.. is she ok?? is there anything that they need or we can do for them.. I have done benefits before and would be MORE THAN happy to do another for this girl and her family.. please if anyone knows if she is ok or not please let me know..

The child is going to be ok. It was not a hit and run, the vehicle in fact, did stop and pulled over to the side. The famiy will be supported by the girl's dance school. Dance South, I'm sure since my daughter goes to dance with her. I cannot release the name of the child on a public forum to keep her safe and well, since she is under the age of 18, it is indeed illegal for me to do that as well. She will I assure you, will be ok. When she was on the ground in process of fixing her dismembered body, she was able to move her legs, sit up, and look and hear me. I actually looked up to how many kids do get hit by vehicles in the state of TN. I do have to say that I am shocked by the numbers of accidents that specifically covers that area and it was not by far the best numbers and a long ways from being the best number. For example, my daughter, 9 yrs old this week, goes to the end of the drive way to wait for the bus, I do assure her that I am watching her from a window to make sure she is not hit or obducted. I tell her that all the time. She may understand it, but she also thinks "it will never happen to me, my army parents will be there." Thing is, it can happen to the best of us if not alert.

Stephanie, I was driving the Blazer she landed next to. Glad to know she is okay! Do you know how she end up next to my car? All I know is I heard a boom and screaming and I was rolling my kid's windows up telling them not to look out them.

there was no police officers directing traffic, and the girl was right beside the crosswalk, NOT 40 ft away. The person who hit her was in the turning lane and decided to go around. Also there were probably 40 to 50 people crossing the road. Traffic stopped, but this woman decided to go around. NO POLICE were directing traffic, not is a flat out lie.get your story straight.

Stephanie, thanks for your help with my daughter. We still don't know the facts or who hit her. The fireman on the scene told us the lady was in the turning lane, then pulled out to go around. The person in the vehicle behind her in the turning lane told us the same thing. So we are waiting on the police report. they will not tell us anything and it is an ongoing investigation. Several people were crossing the street and it is shocking she was the only one hit.

I was an eyewitness to the accident and some of the longer comments above are quite exaggerated.

Another example of negative things that happen in White House TN. Since several changes in leadership in White House these last two years has caused a negative impact locally. ie: city employee death, higher crime rate, employees being let go, alleged misappropriation of funds,c sunshine law violations, violation of open records act, harassment to certain citizens, poor fiscal decision making, family members of officials serving on city boards and more. So its not a secret.

Thank you for your appreciation for the ones that do. Yes the negativity, isn't needed. first and foremost, let's get this child healthy and happy again. She did not deserve what she went through. I have already talked with the child's atty. Most of the things on here may not be exaggerated. As a psychology major, please understand there are more feelings, a traumatic even always seems worse at the time you are in it which is your most powerful emotions in which you will remember. I ask everyone please just to keep this on a positive note. It's not about who lies and what people saw. She's alive let's just look forward to her recovery. Thank you. I just explained my perspective of what i did nor is that exaggerated. But I do appreciate your efforts. ;)

Updated the girl is ok. She is in my daughter's dance class doing beautifully. She is happy and healthy...her leg just hurts sometimes when tumbling. But I still pray for a full recovery for this child. Her and my daughter are friends and we do all love her. thank you.
