It sure seems a lot of businesses are leaving or just plain going out of business in our quaint little town.

Baskins, Childs Radiator, Joe Bears, Sullivan Ford, Quiznos, etc.etc.

I have heard Crockett has a serious declining population in it's schools. What's happening?

Is this town dying?

I think perhaps our local leaders and prominent citizens need to be questioned.

I have heard too many tales of rejected businesses s such as U.P.S., WalMart distribution center.
Heck, we all know we don't need jobs in the area.
You can see the wealth everywhere you go.......?

They are gone and the doors are locked. Really a shame to see.

They did open a garage at the old Pontiac place.....New owners are from Tyler....I wish them luck. They did a fine job on my truck.

What your city leaders need to do is set up a bunch of tax breaks to entice Harrah's or one of the other casino corporations to build a franchise in Crockett. Once you get a casino, you will have all you need to keep the city alive.

I can spell. How about you? Can you spell: Town dying; revenue declining; increased property taxes?

Wheres your humor? I can't see that happening here with the religion this town holds so dearly. We just got to where we can sell beer and wine......imagine gambling!
World War III would pale in comparison.

Well, you need to start at the State level. Until they approve it, it ain't gonna happen.

I'd love to see it. That way we could get all the jokers out of the Valero where they could start earning the real money.

If you live in Crockett, your taxes ARE going up! So, what do you think? Then County taxes, then School taxes up! up! up! not down! down! down!. As a tax payer, I am fed up! The consumer and little man is the one that has to bite the bullet! We have to tighten or belts! Isn't it time they tighten theirs? Call your city fathers, call the county fathers and call your school trustees and tell them "No More Taxes" You have a right to be heard!
