Texas Puppy Mill Bill Now In Senate OPPOSED by Texas Veterinary Medical Association

There are 77 comments on the www.zootoo.com story from May 29, 2009, titled Texas Puppy Mill Bill Now In Senate OPPOSED by Texas Veterinary Medical Association. In it, www.zootoo.com reports that:

Texas House Bill 3180, the bill that will crack down on puppy mills, has passed the Texas House of Representatives and moved to the Senate Criminal Justice Committee. Because it has no current regulations or licensing protocol in place for large-scale commercial dog breeding facilities, Texas has become a haven for puppy mills.

The opposition is doing everything they can to kill this important humane bill. Concerned Texas residents must make sure they don’t succeed.

Call the state senators serving on the Texas Senate Criminal Justice Committee and ask them to support HB 3180 at the bill’s upcoming hearing. Ask your friends and family to call, too. The committee’s number is (512) 463-0345.

HB 3180 isn't perfect & will not eliminate puppy mills, but its a start. It will improve conditions for dogs kept in commercial kennels and prevent Texas from attracting more puppy mills so let your voice be heard and make your opinion count.

Veterinary Group Opposes Bill to Clean Up Puppy Mill Industry ...

http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/veter...

Other than calling the Senate Committe DIRECTLY, you can also help fight the OPPOSITION by caling your local vet's to inform them of this opposition and URGE them to cancel their membership's with them to literally rip the "funding rug" out from under them. This like everything else in politics today is about the MONEY! Read BOTH sides for yourselves and see just how bogus the opposition's reason is stated to be. RESPONSIBLE breeder's should have no problem complying with regulations that PREVENT/PENALIZE inhumane practices!

Seems counter-intuitive.
But...more sick puppies eventually leads to more vet. bills after they go to their new owners.
More regulation leads to fewer and healthier puppies which = less income for vets.
Hope I'm wrong.
Help me out if 'ya know better.
I love puppies like a 4 year old boy does.
I could easily double tap anyone who would hurt an innocent animal.

Can you SAY that?

How much per week?

Caged or open range?

My cousin has a combination Veterinarian / Taxidermy clinic outside of Willis, Tx.
The sign out front says: "Either way you get the dog back".

Yes i do. I change my name all the time because of something the trolls did. They were really bad. I was going to stop the petition at 30,000 but they pissed me off so bad, I keep it going.

It seems a few of you are osing focus on how to FIGHT this bill from being killed by BIG-money . I included the ACTUAL telephone number to get DIRECTLY to the Committee this bill is currently in and unless we can keep that phone ringing on the wall or desk or wherever they keep it! It WILL be killed since these guys only care about how much MONEY lines their pockets and how many votes they can hustle with it once it is in pocket!! Lets keep the focus on getting this bill PASSED and then we can move on to other issues.

Thanks in advance and spread the word to EVERYONE in Texas! There REALLY is strength in numbers, IF we can stick together and STAY focused on a common objective. This is WAR by the People AGAINST BIG-money and "special" interest lobbyist's!! Let's fight it like one!!!

Pretty sure they have a form to sign to protect babies. We could try starting there and then save the puppies.
