There are so many crackheads and dealers in the immediate area of the city itself and they do nothing about it. Many times, I am glad to live in the county and not the city. NO action, NO convictions and more benefits for those that choose to break the law. Why not make Trinity the Texas the spectacle for what not to do?

Lord have mercy.... Neal Smith made a comment one time, a couple years ago, that he would rather NOT have a Police Department at all. Guess he is getting his wish huh? Trinity has to be the most corrupt place in texas. It shocks me how people who live there actually support Smith, Gentry, Patchet, Morrow, EVANS, Jones or any of the other ring leaders that are infecting this city and county with such poor ethics. The ONLY way to change this is VOTE, and VOTE right.

Sounds like the police
Has lost their lease,
Who can we call
When there is a brawl?
How about earl
For he is a pearl,
Who is big bird?
Just a big tird,
What about patchet?
He got the hatchet,
Then there is Dennis
He can't finish his sentence,
Is Daryl a Punk
or the town drunk?
Can you tell the Huffmans apart?
Hell no their both an old fart
What about Lynn?
He belongs in the Pen
It won't be long
and the whole town will be gone
Think before you vote
or you will get a goat
Can we call the Sheriff?
Only to pay your drug tariff...

Thank you Milltown, well said!! This situation is a very serious one.I sincerely hope people don't think for one second that this town can actually function with out law enforcement. There is nothing standing between a citizen and the criminal elements. How well can one man protect 2500 people, you do the math!!
I have no idea how Stubbs, morrrow, Huffman, Dennis, VanDyke, Smith, and Gentry, can actually walk around this town and look at people in the eye?? If ANY of them were the LEAST concerned about this city, they would ALL resign.
It is a such an embarrassment to have a cty councilman going around and publicly saying he wished that we did not even have a police Dept. Then to add insult to injury, we have mayor Stubbs, and Mad Dog Huffman, backing him up.Remember that Neil Smith has only one vote, he could not do these things alone.
Then there is our fine chief of Police.Someone needs to tell him this is not the old west and he is not on a big round up.Why can't the man at least look like a chief of police. What a joke!!

I did like P.W.A. C. poem, because it so well fit, all though this is very serious, a poem like that seem to fit. And C.C., you are right. But all this actually falls on us, the citizens. Because we have the power to vote, and put in office who we chose. Now, if it is a persons first term, and they are a screw up, shame on them, but when they have been in a political position as long as some of ours have, then shame on us for voting for them. I can however proudly say i never voted or supported any of them. I did regretedly work for lynn, so i too made that mistake, although i felt i couyld make a difference, with his council backing him, everything was shut in our faces. Do you remember the Trinity Police Officer Association? Do you recall there efforts to bring the PD an SO up to standards, or how about the work they did for FREE through-out the county while the association was functioning? The all mighty city council was against that, and eventually, alll the memebers were either FIRED or QUIT, and now there is NO ASSOCIATION. Guess they got what they wanted? NO pd and no association......

A lot of us beleived in these people and we were wrong . They are too wrapped up in their own business, plus what kind of pay do they get? Everybody on that council have 15 different things going at the same time ,they were born and raised here that's all they know.

You have made some valid points. I had forgotten about the Police Association. I really did not know that it had faded away. This is what happens when you are not involved in your community and you trust that "they" will be the ones that volunteer, run for office, etc. WE MUST ALL GET INVOLVED IN THIS COMMUNITY OR SIT DOWN AND KEEP OUR MOUTH SHUT. Talking on this forum is not the solution, we must all put some feet to what our mouths are saying. You must get out and vote....but remember that there must be someone to vote for. Could it be you? or you? or you? If these people are unopposed, guess what? They are re-elected for another term. I have always believed that we are to be supportive of those who are the leaders of our country, community, churches, etc,(even if we did not vote for them) because this is what God instructs us to do. I have supported and voted for most all of those who are on the City Council now, especially Lyle and Wayne. And I am not ashamed to say so. I was very disappointed and hurt at the treatment I received at the November council meeting. The issues that a lot of them have with Rusty should not affect the way that I am talked to or treated. I know that Rusty would not talk or treat their wives or family in the mannter that I was spoken to. Hope to see a lot of you at the council meeting. You don't have to have anything to say, just be there and listen to what the council has to say. Remember this is YOUR COMMUNITY. Peace & Grace.

I have no problem with his clothing prefrence, BUT, i do agree that being a Chief of Police, he should attempt to dress professional while conducting Police business. I have to remind myself WHO we are talking about though, Lynn Gentry, LOL.

Let's see HMMMM one officer works 12 hours a day on days and one works 12 hours a day on nights. Then in their spare time they can investigate any crime. Oh that is right there is no crime in Trinity. No crime, no need for police. ATTENTION TDC PAROLEES, Trinity has no Police !!!
But watch out for the Captain he'll getcha.

well lets see Lone Ranger, it is hard to fight the crime in Trinity, when everyone and everything is working against you. Have you ever worked for Trinity Police Dept., if not then you dont know what your talking about, and if you have then lets pull your service record and see how well you did at Trinity.

Just Another Officer, I think that Lone Ranger is on your side.He is saying that Trinity does not have enough help.
Trust me, no one blames the officers that work here. They are over worked and under paid and poorly equiped.Besides all of that, they have a chief of police that could not even get a job as an officer no where else in Texas !!!!
He could not make it here if it weren't for his good friend Neil showing him the way !!!

Here are some questions that every citizen of the City of Trinity should consider:

Why is Smith allowed to do what ever he wants when he wants and you people still elect him over and over?

Why is Smith allowed to run the police department?

Why can't the city hire more officers when they are four officers short and it pays more than the Sheriff's deputies are being paid?

Why was Officer Fisher fired illegally for helping the Constable's office make the biggest drug bust this county has ever seen?(He was not a supervisor, nor was he the only city officer that was there)

How come more people from the community do not go to city meetings and support the officers?

Why are city employees forced to work on private property with city equipment?

Why is Lyle Stubbs allowed to pay his employees under the table with out with holding taxes and paying social security on them?

Why was Stubbs allowed to operate a dirt service with out all the proper permits and certificates on his dump trucks allowing him the unfair advantage against his competitors?(FYI- DPS did come in a couple of months ago and ended this)

Why was Smith allowed to pave his drive way with city money, equipment, employees, and supplies?

Why was Smith allowed to fill his pond up in his back yard with city water, water his garden with city water, all when the city was under a water rationing order?

Why are there not any minorities or women allowed on the Fire Department?(Huffman could answer this one- After all he is the one who said so long as he was one the fire department this would never happen. Not his exact words that would offend most women and minorities.)

Why is Daryl Morrow allowed to sit in the police department and bond out all the criminals?(Some for votes and some for money)

Why is the city not actively looking for another grocery store where the prices would be at a competitive level?

Why is there no new industries being sought after bringing good paying jobs and tax revenue?

DOES ANYONE REALLY CARE ABOUT TRINITY?

By the way- Smith does not pay for the water he uses to water his lawn, garden, and livestock and fill up his pond. The last I heard the meter did not even work so there is no way to track his usage. Do not get me wrong, I have no problem with the city employees, vol. firemen and city council having free water, after all most of them do volunteer their time, but it should be metered and a maximum cap should be in place to minimize abuse
