The Brookshires in MADISONVILLE, TEXAS is the nasiest brookshires i have ever stepped foot in. Not only have i heard their manager shon talk to the employees like he can run the whole store with just himself, he is the most unprofessional manager ever to be in control of a business, but they have dead rats, rat droppings, etc. Thats nasty to sell food, but shon walks and i mean walks cause he doesnt do a thing all day but walk around and give out orders, all day he should get down on his knees and clean his store. I honestly think that he must be doing something under the table to still have a job because he has the worst manager record i have ever seen. Whats worse every time Shon doesn't get his way he threatens the person with loosing their job, which is why so many people quit. EVERY employee thats there i believe is there simply to get bills paid otherwise shon ass would be left out to dry without any assistance, its not ONE TRULY HAPPY employee at MADISONVILLE brookshires. Oh and John Alston act like if he fires him he will loose his job, well keeping him around is one of the worst things i have seen happen which is why ALL my business goes to HUNSTVILLE super WAL-MART.

THE STORE DIRECTOR IN MADISONVILLE MR SHON PETERSHAGEN IS THE WORST STORE DIRECTOR BB CAN HAVE. HE IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL TO HIS EMPLOYEES.BUT YET HE HAS EVERYONE IN THE CORPRATE WORLD FOOLED. WHEN THEY COME AROUND HE IS SO NICE BUT AS SOON AS THEY LEAVE HE IS A WHOLE OTHER PERSON. HE THREATHENS TO FIRE YOU IF YOU NEED OFF ON A CERTAIN DAY.THEY ALSO HAVE RATS THROUGH OUT THE WHOLE STORE.THAT IS NASTY BEING THAT IT IS A GROCERY STORE WITH FOOD.YOU HARDLY SEE HIM DOING ANY WORK. ALL HE DOES ALL DAY IS WALK AROUND GIVING OUT ORDERS TO EVERYONE ELSE. THEY HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE QUIT THAT IF SOME ONE FROM CORPRATE WOULD PAY ATTETION THEY WOULD KNOW IT WAS THE MANAGER NOT THE EMPLOYEES NO ONE WANTS TO STAY AROUND WITH HIM AND HIS DEMANDS OR HIS ATTITUDE!!!!! THIS COMING FROM A SHOPPER I SHOULD NOT KNOW THIS MUCH BUT I HAVE SEEN IT WITH ME OWN EYES IF NOT I WOULD NOT BELEIVE IT.

Hello,
Im am currently working for the Brookshire Brothers in Trinity, Im a stocker, We all work very hard to make the store prosper, You will not have problems with upper management as long as you Do your job in a timely manner, get your work done, and treat people with respect as part of the job requirements! They dont ask too much my job requires alot of work and its very important to the store to get groceries to the shelf for the customers. I come in everyday and work my hardest To make sure things are done because i choose too, you may come in anyday and see this, I work not because im forced too overwork, my appearance as a hard worker is important to me, unfortunately some peoples work ethics arent... The people that do work hard i thank you! I have so much respect for the management team, Mr. Milliff Works so hard to make our customers happy and make the store look great, hes a very busy but he finds time to deal with the many things that come up, and it astonishes me how he manages to do it, There very lenient to days off For such things as sports, untimely circumstances, For example I wrecked my car and im occasionally late and in the process of fixing my vehicle, not having a ride to work, there very understanding with that and they even put in effort to find someone to go out of there way and take me to work, and try to work around it to help me, For all the bad things you hear there are so many great things that you dont! There are problems but the company is in the process of fixing, i know this because i see the effort put forth to fix flaws, and make the customers happy. That is why store #23 is "store of the year"

Mr. Stephens is a hard working assistant manager he proved that hard work does pay off going from stocker To assistant manager in a short period of time of just a few months! to which he still holds this position and is in the process of doing something greater.

Ms. Lewis gives her full effort to get as much done as possible and make the store grow. I fully respect that.. and her and Mr. Capps are great managers ive heard so much about Mr. Capps Productivity! But all i know are stories because i havent had the chance to talk to him, or work with him but ive heard nothing but good things.

Ive strived to go up in this company and working hard is definitely a way to do it because it does pay off... you shouldnt work hard just to get a raise thats what ive learned, you should want to do that anyways, and along the way great things will come... you can think of this as "kissng the southern region" of management or you can see this as my humble opinion of the store i work for first hand. Theres a Schedule put out everyweek and you can request any day off there very lenient about that also... Sure the company has flaws but what doesnt??? As long as there in the process of fixing them the best they can, I respect how they do.

Ive ran into bad situations, you do in any job, but Brookshires handles Things the best they can, everyone in the store

Sackers, Stockers, Produce, Meat Market, Dairy, Pharmacy, Non-foods, and Management are improving everyday... Thats spreading, I believe there are more hard working people than slackers... And slackers are most the time the first ones to give up and leave the store in a pinch... Thats why there are other hard working people to cover that and Keep the company going...

I never have and never will work for Brookshire Brothers after things I have heard current and former employees comments. That and I think some of their managers have their priorities mixed up. What kind of a store demotes an employee for taking their sick child to a doctor even though they have a doctor's excuse as proof? Or fires a young kid because he has to take a day off to visit with children he was legal guardian over. He was told that he had his priorities mixed up, job comes first, family comes second. All I can say is they lost one hard-working sacker only to replace him with one good one and two worthless ones. Seems it would be a little more cost efficient for the company to keep good employees, pay the appropriately and re-examine their priorities.
Now it's your turn. DO NOT identify yourself, but do please tell us if you are a current or former employee, then tell us your story. Even if it's just about not being able to take a break to relieve yourself.
I am a current employee and I dont have a problem here. I think I do a good job and go pee when I need to and if somebody doesnt like it they can kiss my lilly white ass. Most companies dont give a shit about there employees, its not just here its nationwide. Its sad but true. People in third world countries love to have what we have here. Food for thought. Thanks

Thanks for you post and comments. Please watch the profanity as I keep it as G-rated as possible here! Posts with profanities can and are often physically removed permanently! I do NOT like having to use those measures to keep a "clean site", but will and have as many can attest to.

Thanks again and hope you continue to participate.

I currently work for Brookshire's as part of their management team. It appears that someone got their feelings hurt and are using this page to express themselves. Brookshire's is a business, and their main goal is to serve the customer. With any business, some are run better than others. Most of the management is trained thouroughly, a lot of things are only learned on the job. The main goal is to keep the customers and employees happy. With all the varying personalitles and circumstances in this world today, it is impossible to please everyone.
However, I am proud to work for a company that gives honor to Jesus Christ. I am proud to work for a company that prays before every meeting held. I am proud to work for a company that provides benefits. It will never be perfect, but Brookshire's does understand the importance of keeping employees happy. They strive to provide excellent customer service. I do hope you will not continue to judge all Brookshire's stores and management by the fruits of a handfull of Texas stores.

I dont have a problem with breaks but I have a problem with people not knowing truth from lies and reality. I cant stand people who LIE about how they work and LIE about other people to make themselfs look better. We all know there are a few who get away with doing nothing and we know who they are.Whats amazing is nothing gets done about it.There nose is so brown stained its not funny. I wont be working there much longer

This is pathetic. Why can't a single thread go through Topix without someone getting pissy with everyone else.

You want to know what is wrong with brookshires and trinity? People that do nothing but sit on their collective posteriors, surfing the net, complaining and trying to stir others up. Until people can learn to come together for a common goal without seeing who has the bigger balls nothing will get better.

It has been hinted at many times that I work for Brookshires and that I have been lieing about my identity. So I'm about to set the record straight.

The only place I have ever worked in this town is at the Trinity Pennisula Chamber of Commerce other than owning my own business. I have never worked at Brookshires and after listening to employees for over 15 years repeating the same complaints, it will be a very long time and hell WILL freeze over before I ever work for a company that mistreats their employees like that.

Ask anyone around town and they will tell you that I have an almost obscene tendency to tell the brutal, hit-you-in-the-gut truth and I don't sugar-coat anything.

For those of you on the thread that do know me, speak up and verify what I've just said. No sense in having people mistake me for someone I'm not.

OK, here is one that knows you, and I'm speaking up :) I have known Kat for 12 years, and she does not, nor has she ever, worked at Brookshire Brothers. She did work at the Chamber for a time, but she and her hubby have their own business so she needs no outside employment. She has plenty to do.
And the rest is true, too. She is brutally honest and has a big mouth. Love ya, Kat :)
