Crockett has some of the nicest,friendliest, folks to be found anywhere ,I see them everyday! I think most people agree. And in a perfect world that would be a reality.

Unfortunately it is a long ways away. You have to remember that the South and North of this country still have issues. African, Africans in Africa are killing eachother (A small attempt at humor).

The biggest problem with the world moving ahead on reace realtions are those that continually thrust it too the forefront.....Sharpton, Jesse Jackson..etc.etc. They have surpassed their usefulness.

Guys it's been yrs since I left the area, but I can gar own tee that it's a damn sitght better than when I grew up in this area (50's and 60's)and believe it or not the "n" word is used considerably more often in MA CN and NY and with more vehemence than down here. But there is hope a 12 yr old black kid called me an "n word" 3 times during a discussion about his attitude and actions. When I told him to add "lover" to the end of it he simply looked confused and shut up.

I would say it is less open than it was.
I always laugh about my first moving to Texas. I had never heard Christian and Ngr in the same sentence. It just blew me away.
