Dear Social Club Member in regards to your comment about Ms, Barret is furthest from the truth!!! Our problems in our school is not the principals or teachers and the staff!! We live in a time where disablement in not permitted in our schools!!! I have seen student tell teachers to go F____ off or kiss their ass so what do you do when that happens!!! I seen students refuse to do classwork and run home to mommy and daddy and tell on the teacher blame everyone else. Discipline starts at home with two parents or guardian making a difference and not being their kids friend!!! I think we need to go back to the basic where learning was with pencil and paper and respect!! Kids today do not know how to really communicated with others unless its threw a Facebook account or a text!!! You can not blame our school issues on Ms Barrett who cares and loves her students and staff!!! I have worked in the TISD District for many years and have seen people come and go.. We need to find good people that want to make a difference and are not scare to discipline our students!!! I want to see people within our school district that value their job and student as if they were their very own!!! I have to say that is one reason I like Ms. Barrett is because she CARES!!!
Well said! As a teacher we only get to spend an hour with the child each day. I can't teach them what I am supposed to teach them and how to behave. It's not all the students, it's a select few- and their parents who have every excuse in the book, and blame the teacher or principal for their child's poor choices. It's those parents who are pulling down our schools in Trinity. But I still work hard for that hour I have with their child to teach the content and good behavior choices. Those parents have a free pass this year to enroll their child in another district, if that district will even take their child!
And for the student who attends the high school, and posted on here, I'm sorry that your teachers are teaching below grade level to meet the needs of the rest of the students. It's a policy at my school to teach on grade level, and meet the needs of the other students at different times throughout the day.(During elective periods, inside recess or STAAR class)
