Racing Returning to North Wilkesboro - WGHP

With faces that made racing famous in the crowd, a group of investors announced Tuesday that racing would return to North Wilkesboro Speedway next fall.

When Nascar realizes the foundation of the sport is in tracks like Wilkesboro, Rockingham, Darlington and others, there won't be so many empty seats. A step in the right direction. Good luck to all involved.

Great to see North Wilkesboro being reopened by some of the people that love the sport of racing. Let's just hope the Brian France stays away as every thing he touches turns to, well you know. Wasn't glitzy enough for the new NASCAR so like the "Rock" it was expendable in the name of "progress". I see the race fans are now getting back to the roots of the sport and as NASCAR declines I see the local tracks doing better than they have in years. I look forward to my first road trip the North Wilkesboro. Congratulations.

Great news to hear. I haven't been to a Nascar race in two years and don't plan to return. Since going to the cookie cutter cars and allowing the foreign autos to be a part of our sport, the Frances have ruined the sport. Let's get back to the real racing and it won't take long until the short tracks and the local boys will dominate the sport along with ticket sales.
