Man sentenced in kidnappings

Lancaster County District Judge Earl Witthoff sentenced Sean Cockson to 33 to 50 years in prison Tuesday on charges arising from the 2005 kidnapping of his former girlfriend, her mother and a friend.

hi my name is kyle cockson, sean cocksons, younger brother. I think that the judge should not of sentenced him that long. He had no sympathy for mental illness and he had no right to sentence my brother that long just because of my brothers ex girlfriends letter and trametized even though she handles her job fine and lives her life fine. You know what i think if thats what ashley wants witthoff to think she needs to get counseling!!!

Please, everyone understand the seriousness of this illness. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder(schiza-effective). Anyone can get it. A chemical imbalance of the brain and it shows up in young men at about age 19+. When he bonded out of county jail, he was not given his meds. This is why this happened and he was not on his meds for a few days. Also, at that time, he was not diagnosed correctly and was never on enough meds. This unfortunate incident happened because of that. He was not in reality. It took a few days to get his meds. Had to go through docs and pharmacists to get him back on. Very sad..... A boy next door type.... a young, goodlooking man, very intelligent and did well in school(and college) and on his jobs. This unfortunate incident should never had happened!

Mr. Cockson DID NOT KIDNAP these women! This was actually FALSE IMPRISONMENT! Kidnapping carries a longer sentence. Kidnapping is the intentional CARRYING AWAY a victim to another place. He only DETAINED them. This young man was wronged!!!!!!!

he was not wronged, if you knew the fucking story which you obviously do not, you would know that he did indeed kidnap his girlfriend before this detainment... He took her across state lines, stopping along the way to threaten her and throw her cell phone out the window. He was upset because she wouldn't go out with him after they had dinner, he drove her all the way to missouri against her will. He was arrested and held for trial until his mother bailed him out and then he broke into her house, waited for her to come home from work and surprised her and her friend. He confessed to them he had been planning this the whole time he was in prison. He held them and her mother at knifepoint. He had gloves, a knife and rope, not to mention the single golf club and bottle of pills in his car. You're a fucking law student thinking you know everything but you have no idea the harm you do saying he was wronged. She was wronged and the emotional harm he has caused both their families and loved ones is wrong. Yes, he is mentally ill, but it was her family who tried to help him. They were the ones who took him to get help. He chose to not take his bi polar medication. He chose to try to hurt her and kidnap her not once, but twice. The only reason why they were only "detained" as you put it, is because he wasn't expecting her friend to be there. No, he doesn't need a maximum prison sentence to get better, he needs pyschiatric help. But he had a chance to be in society after the first kidnapping and he blew it. This is the price you pay for these crimes. During and after the relationship he harassed and stalked her, threatened suicide and during the kidnapping and "detainment" threatened to kill her. If he would have slipped with the knife during the "detainment" and accidently slit someone's throat would he have been wronged? If he had succeeded in killing her while he choked her after she was tied to a chari during this "detainment" would he still be wronged? He was tried for the 1st count of kidnapping when he took her across state lines, so no he wasn't wronged. Check your facts you fucking idiot, before you open your god damn stupid mouth
