Joe gets his 2nd big promotion in just 3 years. I guess he was doing such a great job destoying our athletic programs that his Sister Dr. Brown gave him another big time promotion? What a Joke!

This nepotism needs stop. There is a school board election coming up. Elect those that will put in an anti-nepotism policy and clean house. Elect those that will NOT support Dr. Brown's own personal agenda of hiring and promoting relatives.

It still doesn't matter. It is a relative that got a new position. I would like to know who was interviewed for that position and if it was put out to the public to submit resumes on or if the brother was just moved to that position.

When Mr. Salsman moved, his position was opened. That position was then filled. It was merely a lateral shift for Mr. Salsman. So yes, the open position was posted and people applied for it. Several people applied for the vacant position. An assistant principal is an assistant principal. They are all the same within the building. The opening was for the Activities Director/Administrator.

Was the position he moved to posted for people to apply for? To me it is sounding like resounding no.

Athletic director to Full Time Administrator seems like a promotion to me. Lack of experience and no personality, makes me wonder if he would stand a chance getting this job with anyone other than his sister. No one is tring to bring anyone down. We are just stating the true facts.

He was NOT just an Activities Director, He was also a full-time principal. He did discipline and teacher evaluations. The position that was open didn't need to be posted because he was already a principal. Check your facts. I guarantee I am correct. The Activities/Principal position he left WAS posted. This is in no way a promotion. These are the TRUE FACTS. Do you work in that building? I do, so I know that I am right. He has always been a full-time administrator!!!!!!!!! If you want to know for sure, check his salary. If he got a promotion, it will be reflected in his pay which as you all are acutely aware is public.

Even if it wasn't a promotion the new position that he went to should have been posted to give everyone a chance at that particular job and location. By not posting it and just moving the brother to it the district has practices nepotism.

No it doesn't. It is akin to a teacher being moved from algebra to geometry.

No it does matter. Everyone should be given equal opportunity for EVERY position.

Do you know how the position opened? How come you people weren't on here whining about that situation? Because that person is not a member of the family. This is funny because my son who works for AB was telling us that this is how positions are filled there. People shift positions and then the empty spot is opened. I know- we're public servants so the rules are different. I give up on you people. Your minds are closed to the remotest possibility that you might be consummately wrong. This explains a lot about what happens in the classroom.

I certainly hope you aren't a teacher talking like that and making insinuations about the parents. Shame on you!

However, it doesn't matter what another company does. They are a PRIVATE ENTITY. The school is a PUBLIC ENTITY. The taxpayers have a say. The fair thing to do would be to advertise the open position before just moving someone to it, the fact that it was Dr. Brown's brother (as stated earlier) only makes it worse.
