Concerning the General Power of Taxation
==========
A government ought to contain in itself every power requisite to the full accomplishment of the objects committed to its care, and to the complete execution of the trusts for which it is responsible, free from every other control but a regard to the public good and to the sense of the people.
As the duties of superintending the national defense and of securing the public peace against foreign or domestic violence involve a provision for casualties and dangers to which no possible limits can be assigned, the power of making that provision ought to know no other bounds than the exigencies of the nation and the resources of the community.
As revenue is the essential engine by which the means of answering the national exigencies must be procured, the power of procuring that article in its full extent must necessarily be comprehended in that of providing for those exigencies.
Strange you post about the person who came up with the idea of Federal Taxes. Wonder what your kind called him way back then?

Pisces
You might feel edgy as the sensitive Moon remains in your second house of personal values and finances. Protecting your assets and defending your values may become an issue; try not to get into a needless power struggle with someone over personal differences. On the positive side, this is a great day to throw yourself into your work. The powerful emotional energy will help you get the job done.

Aquarius
With so much to do and so much on your mind, you may feel scattered today. It will be easy to forget dates and appointments, so consider setting an alarm to remind you of important meetings. You may be a bit over-extended and preoccupied at the same time. The telephone may be ringing constantly, providing yet another distraction. Try to focus.

Libra
Unexpected pressure on the job may add stress to your day, but by evening you are ready to relax with your partner, best friend, or spouse. Take this opportunity to talk about what you have been going through lately. The more you can help your partner understand your experiences, the better. Make sure you allow him or her plenty of airtime, too! Make love a two way street.

Sagittarius
You may want to do things on the spur of the moment, but pay attention to detail if you want to avoid unexpected expenses. Even a last-minute decision to go for a bike ride could end up with an injury or a flat tire, so try to think your actions out carefully. Enjoy a more relaxed attitude towards life. This evening you can let your hair down.

Cheating scandal: Feds say teachers hired stand-in to take their certification tests

It was a brazen and surprisingly long-lived scheme, authorities said, to help aspiring public school teachers cheat on the tests they must pass to prove they are qualified to lead their classrooms.

For 15 years, teachers in three Southern states paid Clarence Mumford Sr.— himself a longtime educator — to send someone else to take the tests in their place, authorities said. Each time, Mumford received a fee of between $1,500 and $3,000 to send one of his test ringers with fake identification to the Praxis exam. In return, his customers got a passing grade and began their careers as cheaters, according to federal prosecutors in Memphis.

Authorities say the scheme affected hundreds — if not thousands — of public school students who ended up being taught by unqualified instructors.

Princeton, N.J.-based Educational Testing Services writes and administers Praxis teacher certification examinations.

Mumford faces more than 60 fraud and conspiracy charges that claim he created fake driver's licenses with the information of a teacher or an aspiring teacher and attached the photograph of a test-taker. Prospective teachers are accused of giving Mumford their Social Security numbers for him to make the fake identities.

In 2005, Michael Savage famously wrote a book titled, Liberalism is a Mental Disorder, the subject of which is self-explanatory. And more recently, Dr. Lyle Rossiter, a board-certified clinical psychologist, wrote a book in which he diagnosed the ideology of the left as a tangible mental illness. Perhaps though, liberalism is not so much a novel mental disorder, but a more cleverly disguised form of illness already widely studied since the late ‘60s – narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).

The Mayo Clinic defines NPD as “a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration.” This seems in tune with the fact that liberals, along with their degenerate offspring, the Occupy Wall Street movement, believe their policies and platforms fall in the majority - or the 99% if you will - despite being outnumbered by conservatives at a 2-1 clip.

There are other symptoms that define NPD and the left alike…

Expecting constant praise and admiration

This is a staple of the Occupy movement and their constant ‘look at me’ media whoring. The need to feed their pride consumes them, fueling a self-importance that must continue to grow through perpetual media coverage.

Being jealous of others

The very premise on which the Occupy movement and the liberal platform of wealth redistribution are based is jealousy. They want what others have, and they want it without cost to themselves, either monetarily or based on time. They are envious of those with wealth, health insurance, homes, etc. It is a common attribute upon which all liberal protesters rally around.

Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans

Is there anything that personified this more than the Obamacare fight? The measure was opposed by likely voters by a wide margin, 54-41 percent. Yet it was still rammed down the collective throats of the American people. Why? Because liberals honestly thought that once the plebeians had a chance to see their ideas, they would go along with it. Proof of this materialized when Nancy Pelosi uttered these famous words:“… We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”

Setting unrealistic goals

Those crazy kids over at the OWS website, at one point gave us a list of humorous demands that included these deep-seated liberal fantasies.
• Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment
• Free college education
• Open borders migration
• Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all

The liberal politician’s equivalent of this list would be:
• Extending unemployment benefits ad nauseam
• Student loan forgiveness
• Illegal immigration amnesty (DREAM Act)
• Postponement of foreclosures

All currently under consideration by the Obama administration.

A sense of entitlement

The liberal movement amounts to nothing more than making excuses to legitimize a platform of laziness and entitlements. We see this in the Occupy protests. Their solution to counter corporate greed is to steal from those that have worked hard to attain their level of wealth, and give to those who refuse to reach such a work ethic. Money for nothing, or entitlement, seems to be a birthright for the left.

Trouble keeping healthy relationships

Too easy. Does this sound like a group of individuals with relationship issues?
• A 24-year-old convicted sex offender having sex with a 14-year-old at Occupy Dallas.
• Rapes and instances of groping in New York’s Zuccotti Park.
• One rape victim was alleged to have been a deaf man.
• A female protester raped at Occupy Philadelphia.
•Women Only sleeping quarters had to be erected at the New York encampment.
• A permit was yanked in Madison, Wisconsin, due to public masturbation.
• A Los Angeles protester arrested for masturbating in front of children.

Summary

All of these symptoms seem to define an individual who is unable to express their frustration in a rational manner - hence the glitter bombing. The Mayo Clinic diagnosis seems to speak to the glitter-loving liberals directly:

“In order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better.”

Problem being; only you believe these actions make you look better.

In the end, Savage was right. Liberalism is a mental disorder. Just not a new one.

“Just days ago as he campaigned for re-election,” he csaid.”Barack Obama told his supporters that voting is the ‘best revenge.’ I guess now we know what he was talking about. The revenge he seeks is against American gun owners and their Second Amendment rights.”

“The election was called about 11 p.m. Tuesday and by 11 a.m. this morning, we got word that the United States was supporting this resolution. We have to be more vigilant in our efforts to stop this proposed treaty,” he said.

What would you DO without your gun?
COPS no longer HAVE TO protect you!
==========

Just Dial 911? The Myth of Police Protection

Underlying all “gun control” ideology is this one belief.”“Private citizens don’t need firearms because the police will protect them from crime.”

That belief is both false and dangerous for two reasons.

First, the police cannot and do not protect everyone from crime.

Second, the government and the police in most localities owe no legal duty to protect individuals from criminal attack.

When it comes to deterring crime and defending against criminals, individuals are ultimately responsible for themselves and their loved ones.

Depending solely on police emergency response means relying on the telephone as the only defensive tool.

Too often, citizens in trouble dial 911 ... and die.

Hello AM-hope your Thanksgiving was good!

I do not think the left wants to do any protecting of any one but the left,as their reason to remove guns from the private citizens. They have no idea that one should be responsible for ones own actions, and no one owning a gun could kill another, just the criminals do that. The police would protect you? No,they would arrest the criminal after you got shot and murdered. They have no idea that they would also be subjuct to the criminal element. My thinking is,it is just another way of control of the people, and certainly not based on the Constitution nor the idea of our freedoms out here.

Just the left with it`s unreasonable desire of control, power, and rule.

Thanks Whitey ... It was good.
Hope yours was also :)
Control is what all of this regulatory government is about in my opinion. They want us to have to depend on them. That is not the American way. We were raised as having Independence, and hopefully will die that way.

I'm sure there are watch dog groups out there watching out for this type of action, but you never can tell about the back room deals that get made. Especially in this crooked administration, with AG Eric Holder at the helm. WE all know what type of justice he demands. NONE for his people. He said so, when it came down to convicting the Black Panthers.

Glad to see you back on here. We need voices of sanity like yours and 'tofy's'...

I missed you Guys, a lot.:)
