Why isn't "more significant than Trayvon Martin" causing an uproar? Maybe because nobody knows what the hell you're talking about. Just a hunch.

Trayvon happened months ago, why is it still an issue? Its more significant because this was a true baby not an analogy that people are using to describe trayvons 6'0 17 year old punk azz.

The Georgia baby case is a lot more ordinary. The perps were arrested and treated like any other such perps. There was nothing unusual about the case for the public to get outraged about, other than the depravity of the crime.
Both cases are good arguments for gun control. Some kids will commit as much depraved violence as their weapons will allow. If they didn't have a gun, they probably would not have shot the baby. And if Zimmerman didn't have a gun, he probably would have waited in his vehicle for police to arrive.
Martin's case was not unique in that there was initially no arrest. There are many instances where people use deadly force in self defense and the evidence is such that law enforcement does not prefer charges. Also, this case is one that screams FOR gun ownership and the right to carry in public, not for gun control. Every law abiding citizen has the right to defend themselves against someone intent on doing them harm and to be, at a minimum, as well armed as said criminal element.
As an aside, with respect to the verdict and those who scream that we should disregard it and exact some type of street justice, I must say its interesting to see how soon a race of people can forget the past. Not so long ago, an African American suspected or charged with a crime in the south could expect either no trial or one with a predetermined outcome. And even had they secured a not guilty verdict they couldn't be sure that would be the end of it as far as the victims family, or even members of the community , were concerned. Now though, when the "victim" is one of their own, all of that injustice becomes justified and necessary to secure what in their mind is appropriate. Amazing!

Someone should have chosen to carry only one cell phone and a large caliber handgun. The perpetrators could have then been charged posthumously with the hate crime they attempted to commit. Wait. It couldn't be a hate crime though. We all know why. Regardless, there would still be three less thug punks on the street. Even though they were all just about ready to turn their lives around. Sick society people.

I completely agree with you so much that I don't have to add anything more.

Reason he wasn't immediately arrested is that a person defending themself against attack should not be arrested at all. The only reason for public outcry was race based. And if zimmerman had not been armed he could have likely been seriously injured or worse and THAT would have been a crime.
